No, it's incorrect as @bigtwin says, it's a K reg circa 1972 rather than a 55 reg so instantly you aged it by 45 years but it is K 155 YNG is the correct spacing. You might be able to get black and silver plates for that reg.
Unfortunately you can't use black & white plates due to age of vehicle, if it WAS a 1972 vehicle it WOULD be OK
Cheers, Dave

Perfectly true.. however I have a kit-car that is correctly registered with a 1986 plate, I changed legally to a non age related number, three letters, three numbers that were originally on a 1950's commercial vehicle (so I was told).

Because my car looks like a thirties car I have used it for the last 17 years or so and 40,000 miles with black and white plates, and despite police officers expressing an interest in my car none have ever mentioned the 'illegal plates'... I'll get nicked now I've mentioned it..

PS... I do fit reflective plates for the MOT, so's not to embarrass the tester.

That looks like a JBA Falcon, I had one fitted with a Rover V8 + autobox. Mine was the 2+2, had many a great time in it. One of many vehicles I wish I still had.....
Yours looks very nice.
Cheers, Dave(y)

Bang on Dave... makes a change for someone to recognize it... usually get asked 'is that a Morgan/MG?'

I've had it for 19 years now...

I'm sorry, it is my birthday and yes I have been in the pub.....but.....
It should read K155 ING which would make it a 1992 registration, not a 1972.

I might have missed something earlier on in the post, so sorry in advance its the ale talking.:beerchug:

Must go now as I have thought of a couple of other things but I have made a promise to my sober self not to stay on any forum or send e-mails whilst bevvied up.

Actually, unless there was a one off K1 registration, then it's a K reg which makes it 1971. Legally it should read K 155 YNG (NO I's in registration plates)

K prefix is 1992 ..... K suffix is 1971......... eg YNG 155K

K 155 YNG is 1992(y)

It's a long way back, but that couple of years is easy for me to remember as I bought my first ever brand new car in 1991. A 'J' plated Vauxhall Nova ;)
I wouldn't mind but I had a L reg car too. Mind you I also had a F reg Rover 3500 but suffix one. It was second hand though. I'm not that old!!!! Well, I might be :swear:

I know someone with a single letter and single number on a newish small car, passed down through the family and she could not afford to buy it herself, she calls it her nest egg

It's gone on so long I've lost the thread a bit now on K 155 and how it is spaced but, if it hasn't already been said, you can't present a car via it's plate as newer than it is. Anyway my three plates were all chosen with our initials and house numbers and all make the vehicles appear older than they are, don't want the neighbours getting jealous. :)
