Getting there!
We are on an impromptu 3 day North Wales tour and have called into Portmerion.

Noticed that they are building this:

Looks pretty good - no idea of pricing though.

Bril, but hope they will enforce it or long stayers and cars will dominate it.

Spent 5 years at RAF Valley on Anglesey and now live in North Wales but we’ve never been there... I’ll consider it if it does open

Looks nice and level..... Not!

Not to worry, E&P levelling system will soon sort that one out or half a dozen Milenco or Fiamma ramps for those that use them, and the others that don't use ramp just won't care. ;)

If you look at the plans most pitches are only about 7m deep and 6m wide which rules out a lot of MH

Wonder if they'll allow dogs? They village itself doesn't.

This is great news and thank you for posting.

Do I detect the UK actually making an effort to accommodate us????? Fingers crossed (y)

A great idea but why do they think they have to put in showers & toilets waste of money & will be reflected in the price they charge. A simple dump point & freshwater tap would be fine.

Looks to me more like a proper campsite rather than an "aire" albeit they say dedicated to motorhomes. It's being done by Portmerion Ltd, the attraction owners so I'm sure it will have to pay for itself. The cynic in me says it won't be basic or cheap.

I suppose they are trying to cater for the majority rather than a couple of rv's

This thread is making me chuckle

Many moans on this forum about not enough facilities for motorhomes and as soon as someone takes the initiative to build a 'motor home park' there are more negative comments than positive

I say good luck to them and if it turns out to be too expensive for some of you on here, then don't go there - simples 🙂

By putting in facilities they will be able to host smaller campervans without an onboard toilet or shower, as well as full-size MHs. And I think that is a significant additional market.

And although your view is clearly strongly held, it is not necessarily the preference of all motorhomers.

Will keep my eyes on progress, love it round there.

We went to Portmerion last year, a great day out and had a bottle of N0 6 in the hotel at the bottom, plenty of space to park your Moho outside, also if any funsters are thinking of visiting check with the Portmerion Castle Restaurant for Meal deal as we had lunch there and got free tickets to go in.. you can also leave your van outside the castle and walk down its easy access all the way(y)

We've been and stayed in the main hotel and tried to get in again this year but they were fully booked. This would make a great alternative way to visit. Good luck to them.

Jongood, yes Bertie is ours. 2017 had a body off nut and bolt restoration (although it wasn't bad prior). Engine stripped and rebuilt. Now like new. Runs sweet.

Al Bondigas - thank you for posting - looks like a good location for a future meet or two.... :)
Have made enquiries & will update here once we hear back.

Good news for us in a very interesting place dedicated to the Prisoner.

Portmeirion? The new park can take 23 motorhomes. But who is Number 1????
