A friend of mine is thinking about buying a small camper to give the van life a go, he's seen one at Peak Motorhomes and wondered if anyone had any feed back on this dealer as I've never heard of them.

Also whats folks opinion on this van as in value for money and any known problems to look out for.

Thanks in advance

I bought a van from Peak Leisure near Derby a few years ago. They went bust. Don't know if it's the same shower starting up again.
The vsn your looking at is pretty expensive comparing it with other vehicles out there for sale.

certainly doesnt look like the old lot, they were in ashbourne and a franchise but cant remember who it was but they were quite good on accesories but very dear vans, this lot seem to be a dealer in private vans.
but the one in the link is way too dear, 10 grand could buy a similer one.

Just down the road from us Gerry, we bought our first MH from him

He definitely asks high prices, but we also managed to get a good discount when buying

His name is John and he a classic small scale car dealer, but selling motorhomes, been there a good while seems to know his stuff and motorhomes himself

Not sure where you would stand in the event of a significant warranty claim

Looks way too expensive to me.

A quick look at Companies House shows they have been around for a few years.
At the end of Sept 2017 (last set of accounts), they had just under £300k in the bank!

Was surprised it was suggested that as a trader they offered no warranty and everything was 'Sold as Seen'. Found the below on their website which suggests otherwise.

Never heard of them, never dealt with them, never likely to. Just had ten minutes spare and was being nosey! (y)

Thanks for the replies, I personally thought it was a bit expensive but thought I'd get others opinions so the mate doesn't think its just me.

Isn't it funny how we all read posts differently, the only reference made to warranty was mine I think

How did you read this comment as you did?

But reassuring to see how much 'profit' he makes :)(y)

I've had a wee nosy around and although like others I think its over priced its actually about the average for similar vans. I don't think I'd pay that for it though but not my money.

No, it wasn't your comment. (y)

It was in response to a comment regarding lack of warranty made by @Theonlysue which now I see has since been deleted.

Far too expensive the dealer will probably be doubling his money on that van.

That was my thoughts but try finding similar and they don’t seem much cheaper

Think he could do much better if his budget is 22 grand, the van in question wont be winterised, insulation will be poor.
