We were planning to stay inland to Valencia but the longing to swim in the Med and chill by the beach after 2 weeks driving has got the better of us.
Any lovely beach campsite locations you could recommend around Penscola?
We’re at Morella right now and the med is but an hour away!
Lots on camper contact. Hard to know which is the best for us and our dog who lives to swim and run. What’s Stop over Sol d’Or like?

There's an aire at Peniscola about 6 euro a night, 5 minute walk to the beach and spacious parking bays ?

Thanks we’ll have a look round what’s there. I tend to prefer aires where I can choose my spot as I dislike being allocated a site and packed tightly with other brits at a campsite. Plus I play the squeeze box which is quite loud!

There's plenty of room there and park where you want. One drawback though, they don't allow chairs outside the van.

We stayed there for a night a couple of years ago. Quite and secure. Camping behaviour is not tolerated and enforced by the site owner/employee.

Look up camping la volta, about €8 i stayed 5 wreeks there in december after coming down from morella.there is a free aire on the beach front along from lidl and a few other places close by.hope its of some use.
Cheers cris.

Sorry should have said.the pic with coordinates is just next to open ground at beach and the alibaba csfe is good and on the bottom road at harbour just along from it. Cheers crid.

Thanks just checked into camping Ferrer as we wanted secure parking to leave our van in the day. Cheek by jowl with other campers but at least beach and old town walking distance.

Agreed. That's why we stayed a night. Services used on way in, used on way out. Long walk to old town.

We ended up at Camping Ferrer which is right near the beach, shops restaurants and the old town. Cheek by jowl on the site...

which was a bit of a shock after rural Spain but at least they’re all French and Spanish. Much as I love our fellow brits I prefer not to be stacked in with them. If I can’t follow the language around me it’s more relaxing

Isn’t Peniscola a no dogs beach?
The beach opposite the site at Alcossebre is no dogs. When we were there a woman with a poodle was told off for by the police for being on the beach.

There’s an Aire at Grau, with a dedicated dog beach, off season, opposite. There’s a no camping behaviour policy but the guy in charge goes home after lunch. There are also plenty of picnic benches provided. This is a very nice area to visit and explore.

They take very little notice of dogs on beaches in the winter months, providing it's under control and most importantly you pick up, and if they didn't want you there they just tell you. ?

This is helpful.
