Hi folks,

I've never used the Tunnel before with the camper, so can I when I have underslung LPG tank?

Or is it Ferry every time?

I'm hoping Emanuel is going to let me back in next week, I've gotta check the house out, but really want to get down to Spain.

Cheers

Gerry n Anne

Hi Gerry, No problem using tunnel. You will be asked to turn your gas off before boarding.
Cheers
Bernie

Yes I believe so if the gas is only for domestic use, not to run the engine.

The train is great for a Moho.
LPG powered vehicles are not allowed to travel through the tunnel. Just turn your gas off and you’ll be fine, the journey is very quick too.

Yep as all above
IF you have a Blue Badge make sure they are aware of the help you need
A/ they put you on first
B/ if you need to use a wheelchair they hang around nearby

The tunnel is great we tend to arrive a couple of hours early and most times have ended up on an earlier train one time we drove to the terminal checked in and were on a train in 10 minutes

We are Hoping Macron does change the rules we're due out in March

Hi.
Tunnel everytime.. PVC.. When we had the dog,we sat in the cab with a flask and sandwiches, whatever dog we had at the time would sit by the open side door with a bowl of water," Inspecting " people who passed enroute to the loo and would often have their heads patted etc
Walkies..at whatever end meant we hit the bricks running when off loaded.... result. As for turning off the Gas. I have been assured, that you can isolate the tank, using the STOP tap under the sink to the main distribution pipes and this is OK. As the LPG tank has a " Whatever " that cuts it off automatically if a Pipe bursts at any time.
Tea Bag

We have a single external remote turn off for the underslung and that is sufficient, however I know of those who only turn off at the internal individual taps and that seems to be ok too.

I once forgot to turn of when checking in, advised them of this and was pulled to one side to do it. I just used the remote tap and they checked no gas coming through to the hob which they said was the usual test for them.

We always use the tunnel it's great with the dogs, haven't been for a few years and our passports ran out 2 years ago, we are renewing them this week and hope to be on the tunnel in the summer 🤞

Always use the tunnel, never had the slightest problem with anything, and always seem to be pleasant staff, wouldn't think of going any other way even if ferry was half the price.

It will be soon, the prices for the tunnel are sky rocketing. Looking at going over in February for a week £437 round trip we used to pay that for 5 trips not one

Just done a quote for 7 Feb for a week £324

Well I'm booked for two weeks time, let's hope Emanuel sees fit to let me in.

BTW I've got a satellite dome on the roof but they didn't ask the height just the length so I should be ok, I've said 8 mtres wich is 7.5 plus bike rack.. Am I likey to get bounced?

you will if you haven't ticked the bike rack box

We love seeing the wales!
I hate having to correct you but every time we have gone through the tunnel we always seem to come out into France, are their a set of points half way so you can choose a different route or is it just lucky dip day

Never been to Wales in the motorhome so maybe i’ll ask Eurotunnel which days they go to Wales 🤣😉👍

Speeling was neffer my strong poynt at skool.

I have a on/off tap in the old gas locker this is always sufficient for the person checking.
but is the tap connected to the tank?

As I have said on here before when you drive through hang back from the vehicle in front and then when the car in front has parked I check that I can clear the doors before going forward
Have had cars right up behind then the person checking has to try and get them to reverse up so they can shut the carriage doors behind me☹️

Same price regardless of length and height not important, coaches use the same carriages as Motorhomes
