I have had the above product fitted to my motorhome for approximately 3 years now and I have observed what I thought might be an error. This error presented itself as showing a battery capacity of around 86% on the app when the batteries were fully charged. In all cases the batteries were fully charged and the battery capacity showing 104% and over the next 24 Hrs or so with no drain what-so-ever (batteries either on hook up or maintained by solar panels) the capacity would drop to 86% or there about's. However, as soon as I placed a load on the batteries, even 0.5 Amp the battery capacity reading on the app would return to 104% within 90 seconds, a conundrum.
I spoke to Nasa Marine today who explained for the monitor to work accurately it needs to see a load on the battery and what I am experiencing is perfectly normal. I know other members have this device fitted so thought I would share this with them in case they are seeing the same issue.

I fail to understand how a battery monitor can read 104%. When the battery is full it is 100%, surely 104% is a mathematical impossibility?

Glad your conundrum has been resolved.

Perhaps the laws of Physics change in my Motor-home. I think it's an anomaly to do with the battery A.H. and capacity. been like it since day one.

Our BM2 often, if not always shows 104% after a good charge, it's just congratulating it'self on a great job done ?

? Edit: it doesn't charge the battery so it's impressed with the quality of the Votronics charge ?

I think it makes reference to that point in the instructions on setting it up.. Did you not read them ???..it says you should run a load on it before it can be set up.. Or some such thing.. My instructions are not to hand at the minute..???

Hi PhilandMena
I see the same 104%, and the 86% rising to 100% with a load too on my BM2.

I see it, even though I have followed the setup instructions to the letter several times.

I have three hab batteries, so assumed it was something to do with this. Do you have multiple batteries too?

It might just be showing the surface charge, which is when the voltage is above 12.6v after charging stops. ?

Cheeky Bugger! Of course I read the instruction, I'm the first to criticise other for not doing that too. It states there needs to be a small load on the batteries for the monitor to calibrate itself during the setting up process. Other than that it's just a case of putting in the right number of AH of batteries you have.

Yes! 2 x 100 A.H.

Thanks PhilandMena, I’ve noticed the same anomaly on occasions, it’s good to get an explanation and know it’s part of the normal operation.
