We saw one when we were in Ireland on top of a van. Parked for several nights (and in use) on a car park that clearly stated "no overnight parking - no camping" The camp site we were using (entry beside that car park) was fabulous and only 12 euros a night for a serviced pitch ...... next there will be height barriers at that car park and i can't say I would blame the locals if that happened.
It makes an interesting answer to how many elephants can you fit in a mini? I've forgotten the original answer........

My word that goes back a long way. How do you deal with a rampant elephant..............dial trunk and reverse the charge.Four 2 in the back and 2 in the front
It would still get in as they collapse down , then pop up for use. Well the ones we saw did anyway.
When we were at huisinis beach a couple of years ago we saw 2 landrovers ( those riveted farmers type ones ) with them on their roofs. The father and son team said they got all over the place with them, and I bet they did. We thought how much better than a little tent they were ! They also said the that they were surprisingly warm and cosy. They had one land rover set up like a kitchen and seating area in the back and the other storage. Great idea.
