Lightroom CC v4.1 help needed please (1 Viewer)

I’m a total newbie to this and have got stuck in my first edit.

I uploaded a JPEG file, edited it then exported it to my hard drive.

The new image is now in my hard drive but only the original can be seen in Lightroom.

In my daughter’s version (3.3) she can see the updated file in LR but can also show original.

Does anyone know what I need to do to set this up in 4.1? We have already restarted the MacBook and reinstalled LR CC.

You could try the back slash key, this should toggle between the edited and original version - or it does in Windows, iOS may use a different key. But if this doesn't show any change then for some reason the edits have been lost. If you were working on a raw file the edits are stored in an XMP file. If this has been deleted the edits will have been lost.

It'll be something in settings I think. I can only suggest having a Google for something like "lightroom 4.1 changes to original not being kept". I can see the off YouTube video which might help.

Thanks DBK I’ll take a look at the video ... daughter playing with it now - one photo has worked the others haven’t. It’s really bizarre.
