I had great service from these guys and left them a 5 star Google Review. My second order has been an unmitigated disaster where they appear to simply have no clue and a week after paying they still haven't resolved an issue, caused by them requiring an additional £10 to cover postage, which I paid.

Anyone else have any experience good or bad with these guys?

I'm sure, and I did on my first purchase of a MaxxAir and I praised them for it. This second one has been incompetence personified and all cased by them demanding another £10 (which I paid) after I'd made a purchase. It's been one of those, I can't believe how incompetent a company can be, type situations.

I wanted to fit a Maxxfan but was unsure whether I had enough space. When I phoned them they took one out of a box and measured it for me. As it wouldn't fit, I subsequently ordered a Mini Heki which arrived promptly.

Like I said, they gave me great service on my first order and have royally messed up my second, compounded by poor comms and a seeming reluctance to take ownership of the problem they created.

I've ordered loads of stuff from them and never had any issues. Jacksons & Clearcut have been my go-to online shops
 
For anyone who's interested, here's the exchange - which has STILL not been resolved, all over £10. Customer services in 21st century Britain :) Reverse order obviously.

I made the point when I called that the outstanding amount requested has been requested from the wrong account and you assured me it hadn't, then proceeded to send a reminder for the £10 from the wrong account. As PayPal are now reimbursing my £10 and am happy to pay you the £10 over the phone via card so you can despatch my items. ************. I eagerly await your call. Dave

I can see your frustration a good move would be to suggest some one on their staff looks at these posts to see how silly this is getting and someone with common sense can sort it out
 
I vowed over 15 years ago never to use them again following poor service. Earlier this year I needed a part urgently and Jacksons were the nearest supplier. Against my vow, I took the plunge and drove over to Jacksons. They were good to me. Part in stock at a competitive price. They are now in my good books!
 
In the end I phoned them to pay the £10 additional postage. My order status page now shows this.

I also placed an order with them and was asked for an additional £10.00 for postage. I cancelled the order as I refuse to pay extra postage for my post code which is mainland UK and not in the highlands. Got a refund no bother from them (they were very helpful) and went back on line where I got the items substantially cheaper and with free postage.

Today, the 26th September, they called to ask me to make the additional £10 payment I paid on Friday last week. I pointed out I had paid it, which they confirmed.

Then, at 17:00 someone else called from Jacksons to advise the fixing kit for the Micro Heiki is out of stock.

I think this is genuinely a case of "you could not make this up".

There seems to be quite a few issues with service from them, I have had a good experiences in the past but after the last thing I bought from them I cannot recommend them

It being less than half an hours drive away from our house we have more than frequently nipped in to get whatever, over the last 50 or 60 years. Pete even used to work for their insurers at one time as well as owning a caravan on living locally. Never claimed to be the cheapest for anything AFAIK , and quite often aren't, BUT with shedloads of camping thingummies you just need to physically check the thing out to assess whether the Bloggs's item is better quality than the Hoggs's one, before actually investing any money on said item. A number of things attract a 10% discount with eg CAMC or CCC discount as long as you can show em your membership thereof at the till.

I'm closing this thread, I missed it first time around. Had I seen it, I would have directed it to the review section.

In a thread like this, you just get Facebook, 'bargepole' type comments. You can say what you like about a company here, as long as its the truth and in the review section. (y)
