Hi
As many of you know, we have run a fantastic beast of a truck for a few years:),---- well due to Pamala's poor mobility we have made the drastic decision to change our camping wheels, a few weeks ago we bought a Neismann+Bischoff Flair------the 5.9 Cummins diesel engine has been replaced by a lawnmower engine (2.8 Iveco) but the fuel consumption will be about the same, and the 6 speed hi/low range manual gearbox is now 'just' a standard 6 speed 'box-----the incredible traction of the 4x4 is now just simple RWD---I don't think we even have limited slip diff of the Dodge.------We were so unsure of life without our so faithful truck we couldn't even try to sell it----------BUT now we think that life, for us, will be able to continue without the Dodge/camper and it's incredible power. :(:(:cry::cry::cry:

Good luck in your new beginnings and well done for being able to make a decision which must have been difficult.

Well at least you have bought something decent to replace it with.

Just think of all the money you'll save on fuel though. More money to spend on more trips. Enjoy your new van.

Sorry to disappoint you--us--- but we will only get about the same MPG----I don't know why everyone thinks that a big diesel running so easy will use so much fuel-----but on the other hand a small under-powered engine working hard all the time is going to use a lot. The Dodge is the same running weight as the Iveco.

Hope you enjoy your new camper, as long as it is easier for Pam to use, see you both out there somewhere soon x

Good luck Nigel and Pamala , happy travels in your new mhome

Really , Well I'd never have known that , your right. I stand corrected.;)
A 5.9 and a 2.8 diesel using the same amount of fuel ?

I know our new 2015 pvc is only a 2.3 but it's got the same brake horse power as our present 2006 2.8jtd.
All down to new engine efficiency the dealer said.
But I just expect to get in and drive it.
Ralph's the one who bothers about things like that.
