As a "Wireless" car Cam........... one of them things you stick in the window to record your journey...

The insurance would like me to have one.... not putting the fee`s up if I haven`t...

We have one in the Jazz and had one in our PVC.... but hated the wires every where and Judy`s new car is all smooth and NO place to hide unsightly wires...

Has anyone got one or know of one or a make that do them..????

:thanks3:

Problem with wireless would be constantly charging batteries. Just my view on it.

Thanks............. That is what I thought....

Had a google and could not find anything, hence asking the question...

Looks like hard wired then... :(

Maybe not on a new car under warranty but I wired mine via the interior light which is live all the time until the doors are locked with a small 12v to 5v usb unit hidden above the light and the only visible wire is from the headcloth where it touches the windscreen down to the dash cam at the top of the screen.

It’s not a big job to have it hard wired in so the wires are discreet. Problem with wireless would be constantly charging batteries. Just my view on it.

Halford did mine for about £30 from memory. That was with a rear facing camera too. Total cost was less than £200.

No idea of a battery powered dashcam, Auld Yin but, thinking out of (or maybe just out of my!) box is there such a thing as a dashcam that could be mounted outside of the passenger cabin, eg to the \ into the bumper with the wiring running through into the engine bay?

Maybe something designed for a motorbike \ quad bike \ off road utility vehicle?

Or, and this seems at first glance to be the optimal solution for you driving, what about hiring one of those guys \ gals who do speedy charcoal \ pencil drawings of tourists in London sitting in the passengers seat? Also gives you the add on benefit of them holding \ pouring oot yir Chardonnay whilst you drive the car.(y)

Probably better if I just go back to me bed to await the hangover once I start to sober up!:getmecoat:

I would have thought that the easiest power source would be from the power supply to the DRL

Get yourself a set of car trim removers.V cheap and not difficult to use.Often you just need to pry it back rather than remove trim

Excuse my ignorance,,,,, but what are they ?

I don`t want to do anything that would invalidate the warranty.

Amazon product ASIN B09LCQHCSKJust get behind the trim and lever gently.Trim will be held with double sided tape or some kind of friction fit fastener which can be reused.
Did it on my Lexus which is very well built with good fitting trim and managed to hide all wires nicely.

Have you asked the main dealer if the do one for the car, when I had my BMW they had ones that they fit up by the rain sensor and it was manufactured to fit that model.
All very neat.
