Ideas for a weeks break around the new year

Mrs Mental driving me bonkers as she has a week off from just after christmas as college closed and wants to do something....Just fishing for fresh ideas

Cost of flights anywhere warm are prohibited during school holidays....would consider Amsterdam but just got back..Spain to far for a week, and for the price of an all inclusive somewhere warm I can have 2 months in the spring in Benidorm!

so any ideas for a new year short break would be welcome. I have tunnel frequent traveller account so that straightforward. but flights somewhere an option...

You can get really cheap hotels in albuferia in January, we go most years, not hot , but better than here , Ryanair about £60 return , we use sol e mar, last year think it was about £150 for two B and B , right on the sea and centre of town , mostly closed up but ideal for a wind down in the sun

hadent thought of Portugal, what sort of temps. £60? not at christmas cheapest flights are £350 +

sick of the canaries....but at least its warm
