Hymer B644 G

What you wanted at last Jim. Congrats. (y)(y) Does the elderly gentleman come with it?? :)

You'll have to get yourselves to Peterborough now Jim :) No room in the Fun area but plenty on General :)

would have love to come but would rather be with the 'gang'.. so probably do it next year.. there are other meets we will have a look at..

Great van Jim - congratulations. We went out looking for a B644 but couldn't find one. Ended up with a Star-Line 630 (2003 year) which has an identical layout but is slightly shorter on a Sprinter chassis. We love it and have had it over eight years now. If you have any questions, ours shares many common fittings with yours so don't hesitate to ask.

Extremely jealous, that is one of the models on our radar . Hope you have many happy days in it.

Cracker Jim, hopefully I will see mine in a week or two so I'll have that same butterfly feeling too.

I thought it odd that your Avatar had changed and yet we hadn't heard too much!

Safe travels..............Griff

Thanks Phillip.. been looking for ages, since the new year,.. and initially looking for one a bit newer.. 2006 - 2008 .. but when we went to view and saw how well it had been looked after.. and has only done 31,000 miles.. feel in love. .. the cash saved will be useful for traveling..

no doubt I'll have plenty of questions when we pick it up in ten days.. It's having a full chassis and hab service, new cam belt and I also asked for four new tyres.. the ones fitted looked like new .. but date stamped 0806 .. so 9 years old and well past there use by date ..

happy and excited.. more so than I thought I would be.. :D

First question..

it's a 2800 cc TDI .. driven sensibly.. anyone know what MPG to expect.. ?

Why do other peoples MH's always look bigger than mine even when a metre shorter

Looks great condition Jim, hope to meet you somewhere (y)

Mine appears to be a different size depending on which way round I have parked it (motorhome that is). The drive slopes a little and nose-up, the van appears longer than when it's nose-down.

At some time in the future that is pretty much exactly what way we will be going.... Nice van Jim

I've had the 2.5 tdi and 2.8jtd.

I would never be described as a relaxed driver, always try to keep up with traffic.
Usually travel at around 68mph on the motorway.

Fuel consumption is around 21-24mpg (y)

Such a good looking van

Happy travelling

Mine old hymer b534 is I guess an ugly sister to your Cinderella but still much loved

Ours is a 2.8jtd as well and that seems about right for that speed. Drop it off to between 50 and 55, though, and we get nearer 30mpg.

I can stand that..(y)

and much prefer tootling along at 55, tucked up behind an HGV convoy and enjoying the scenery .. (y)

had enough Mway bashing while working..
