Temperature's are already soaring. Washed all the bedding and it is nearly dry on the washing line. Keeping the curtains shut to keep the house nice and cool. Plenty of ice cubes in the freezer, shorts and sandals on. What are you doing to stay cool in todays 100 deg temperature's.

I'll second the above, 18C right now and shouldn't get too much higher, not even sunny! Though I have plenty cold beer on stand-by should it be required.

I always wondered why my elderly neighbour had the all the windows closed on a blistering day, until I tried it myself!
I close the windows and curtains upstairs
Open up all the Conservatory windows, but close the french doors between the house. Curtains will be pulled when sun comes round the back. Only have the back door and downstairs cloakroom Window open, but door has aluminium fly chain which does direct the sun. Fans and windows open when sun goes down And blast the heat out.
portable air con to chill bedroom before bed.
Out side in shade and the best £50, I ever spent in the garden😀

Since 2008 & many years tugging
Already up to 26 in the shade here, I shall enjoy it, we don't get enough hot weather in the UK. How anyone can complain it gets too hot in the UK I don't understand.
'er indoors wants me to help her in the garden before it gets too hot and then I may wander down to the beach for a swim.

I'm at the other end. Above 20 is too hot. If its cold put on a coat. I'm always sat watching TV in the evening in just my boxers, love it when the door bell rings.

Wouldn't want to live in a house without external shutters again - brilliant for keeping the interior cool in summer and warmer in winter (y)

Ours are closed until 11:31am until the sun comes off the front and heads over the house, makes a big difference and is a national obsession here. I used to open the shutters in the office in the morning to wind up my Swiss colleagues, they couldn't believe who on earth would open them:LOL:

Yes, thank you
18c, very overcast and threatening rain on the Fylde, as usual anything north of Watford Gap does not count! :tounge:
