Hi Fun,

Hoping you can help get me out of this one!!

Merrily driving along when we hear a bang/pop, followed by maybe a bit of a whoosh. The van drives, but there is no kick when I put my foot down.

Pulled over and can see the hose marked in red - which feeds into the component marked in blue - is loose. Perhaps this is the problem?

I have tried to ascertain where this 1 ft of hose should be hooked into for 30 mins with no avail.

Any help as to where this should go - as well as if this is likely to be one and the same with the drive problem, would be hugely appreciated!!!

Hi @icantemember - it may well be - I unfortunately am not as mechanically minded as I should be... Would that make sense given the context of the issue.

Sincerely grateful,
Dave

Thanks Daniel. M - the next challenge really is working out where it should attach to...

Any ideas?

If it helps at all the tube is rubber/similar

Just smiffy a 1995 hymer on a 2.5td Ducato same as the Talbot express I understand

If it's an intercooler pipe, it should attach to a radiator type thing at the front by the grille, or link back towards the inlet manifold

Sorry, I'm no expert either ... it was the first thing I thought of, probably wrongly, but good luck with it.

Okay thanks Daniel. M - I'll take a look

Where are you in France ? Might be a Funster nearby or someone who can recommend a garage.

wrong again if it attached to inlet manifold would explain lack of power

is there any noise like a roar of air

Looks like a crankcase breather if so it will either go to a condenser/separator or air intake.

denisejoe thanks - there is no roar/rush when driving although I was taking it easy...

Hollyberry here I am (photo)

Just smiffy I think that's the right hose yes - but can't see what it would attach to (photo)

Just smiffy think the engine layout is slightly different maybe - although j could be being stupid

So pretty sure that is the right hose. The black box the hose plugs into (in Just smiffy 's photo) is however obscured behind the component marked in blue - I can't get behind there.

What I think is the place it needs to attach to is marked in red...

Thanks everyone I really appreciate it...!!!

Another for crankcase breather.
It could well be affecting the EGR unit which will possibly put the engine in limp mode..... Poor acceleration and reduced power.

That is definitely a breather. It looks like to the black box on right of engine is where it should be. It looks too small to be a turbo pipe. Can’t see much more sorry !

Far too small for an intercooler pipe.
Chances are at 25 years old it doesn't even have a turbo.

Feel like I'm getting warmer... Thanks all useful diagram Lenny HB just can't see / feel that thing to connect it to!
