Fitted a siphon water trap to the sink. Now I see why German dictionaries are so thick.

It replaces the U- bend that was in there before, not sure if it is Pilote original or fitted by a previous owner. Not surprised it did not drain well when you see the kinked pipe.:censored::censored:View attachment 413370
Looks like you have discovered Britain's 5th species of snake "Grey Stinky"

We had one of those fitted to kitchen sink in our last van and it did not stop the pong from the grey waste tank, good luck.
Are you speaking of the new white bit I fitted or the old grey pipe. Stopping the pong was one reason I fitted it!

Unforutnatly your geruchsverschluss, and ours was a pig for the sink to drain with it, so I took it off and made a "S" bend by joining 90 degree copper pipe fittings together.

Being a rather miserly person I shall now go away and quietly weep at the money spent.

Its only a geruchverschluss (odor trap) the other word means hose connection is 25mm diameter :)

The longest word in the standard German dictionary is Kraftfahrzeug-Haftpflichtversicherung – which is the word for motor vehicle liability insurance.

I have some sympathy... on the German keyboard they have all those extra letters - the curly B, the umlauted vowels etc, so the space bar is small and difficult to find :giggle:

with flexi pipe you can easily form a water trap with some cable ties to hold the s shape

Sailed as an engineer on a couple of German built ships years ago. Well built and solid, reliable machinery but the technical dictionaries were very well thumbed! I remember looking up the meaning of a valve and it was " Steam to Catapult "!

Reminds me of the sign on an old Mainframe...

"Achtung!
Alle touristen und non-technischen lookenpeepers! Das machine is nicht fur fingerpoken und mittengrabben. Is easy schnappen der springenwerk, blowenfusen und poppencorken mit spitzen sparken. Das machine is diggen by experten only. Is nicht fur gerwerken by das dummkopfen. Das rubbernecken sightseeren keepen das cottenpicken hands in das pockets. Relaxen und watchen das blinkenlights."

Seriously, Try reading it :p

Hymers have a small trap on all the outlets they don't stop the pong. I think the problem is driving vibrates the water out of them, so no water to block the pong.

That's the primary reason for a sink plug, the secondary reason is to keep the water in the sink
