Sorry for your loss. Remember the good times.

It's just so hard to lose a close friend, there is also nothing wrong in tears.

Heartfelt sympathy.
Losing tbem never gets any easier bur living without tbeir total love and devotion for me would be an empty and hollow shell of an existance.

Very sorry to hear this. I never met Casper but I feel I knew him from the Pet Passport threads.

Our thoughts are with you at this saddest of times.

What a beautiful Shepherd. Thinking of you all , its hard losing a fur baby. Run free and join your friends at Rainbow Bridge. Our last Shepherd( Merlin) was long hair he was born in March 2010, I don't know if he is still alive as sadly I had to rehome him after my hubby passed away

Sorry for your loss, we still miss our Molly but laugh and smile at the good memories.

So very sorry to hear this. He was a beautiful dog and you're allowed to cry. You'll always miss him but you'll always have your memories.

Oh he looks beautiful. I’m so sorry it’s the worst feeling. Crying is good though - it’s part of the grieving process.

So sorry to hear this. It's the day all dog owners dread, you must be in bits.

Have a good cry

So sorry what a gorgeous boy he was, many memories to treasure.

So sad for you, a real friend lost but never forgotten, RIP Casper

to me, our dogs are not friends or faithful companions, they are family, no different to adopting a child

Treasure the time you had together, Casper has known so much love through a life well lived

Good night Casper, may you run forever free

Very sad when we lose our beloved pets, the pain will fade but the memories will always be there. RIP Casper.

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me.
I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.
I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there.
I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said " it's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.
It's possible for me, to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning
and say "good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.
I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.

Be patient, live your journey out...then come home to be with me.
