    I have noticed that fuel prices vary a great deal from one petrol station to the next. We paid €1.185 today but also saw it at over €1.30 in some stations. I have just done a bit of research on the Internet and found a brilliant website which I thought I would share with you. If you select your fuel type and the region you are in it will list that days price for all the petrol stations in the region. I have just checked and there is a petrol station 1 mile from where we are parked (on the Aire at Casteljaloux) selling diesel at €1.165!! Guess where we are heading first thing tomorrow :rofl:. It also shows LPG prices too and gives you the GPS. co-ordinates as well as a map. Brilliant tool.:clap2:

    LPG = GPL
    Diesel = Gazoil

    Diesel, Gazoil, and Gazole are interchangeable in France - you'll see them all at some point.

    A possible point of confusion is that GPL is LPG, but pumps marked 'PL' are for lorries only (Poids Lourds) because truckers have bigger nozzles than the rest of us.

    We just pull off into the nearest supermarket.
    It's not worth travelling far for cheap fuel, at 24mpg it soon becomes false economy.

    Not a bad plan since most supermarkets have the cheapest fuel anyway .

    I think a typical trucker's nozzle is nothing to write home about, but they have bigger orifices (or at least, much more capacity) because the pumps deliver gazole at a much faster rate and a small tank is likely to experience serious 'splash-back' and that, as I'm sure you know, can be very embarrassing on a public forecourt!

    But if you are traveling from France to Germany via Luxembourg, Luxembourg was 1.06 euros per ltr this weekend for Gazoil! Very low tax rates there apparently

    Filled up on my way here and paid £1.33 a litre. Got here into the depths of South Wales and the local filling station is only £1.20. Gutted.
