In theory of course the current price reflects the sum of knowledge in the market. I (and probably we) don’t know better than the sum of market judgments.

It’s probably a decision best taken as a personal risk judgment. Is this a good affordable price for you to fund your final payment? Does the price certainty of doing it now help you? Conversely, if the price drops by very much (or improves by very much) what will the impact on you be?

It's borderline that we have enough Euros for our next trip to France later this year, so we are waiting and trying to judge when to buy.

We are hoping these forecasts are right, but make of it what you will.

You of course are assuming that the rate will improve before I need to make payment (April/May) and there seems to be no certainty at all this will happen.

Totally agree it's a personal risk judgement.

If I buy now and rate subsequently drops I would congratulate myself on having such astute judgement.

If I buy now and the rate subsequently rises I would cry all the way home from Germany.

Neither outcome is life changing but always preferable to get it right!

Revolut are at 1.154 € .. it has been on the up for 14 days now
I watch it like a hawk and get feed from an ex-banker friend who has retired and is making some serious money speculating on the $ the £ and the ... and will buy when I think right.. I am not buying yet
