By pure chance I found a brand new 22" LED TV that is now for sale for £129 that INCLUDES SMART technology, bargain or what for that money, a fire stick is £49!, it is a BUSH brand, does anyone have this TV or knows about them? What I like is the 2 x HDMI sockets and where they are positioned (she face out which is daft as you can't have it close to a wall with something sticking in it), on recommendation I bought a Fire Stick yesterday and was going to get the 22" LG, but with this TV there is no SMART technology and the HDMI facing out a problem if trying to have it flat against wall with a fire stick in, even using the bendy connector, with the Bush you only have one remote and it has Prime Video which has a its own button on the control for the grandkids making things easier and less to lose, so I can use the fire stick on another TV.

OK no 12v but who cares nowadays, with inverters being cheap how often are you actually going to need 12v, it just seems to restrict you to certain models, I have an electric generator anyway so if the grandkids are so desperate to watch a film where we don't have power it won't be a problem.

For the money I think this is superb value, but I can't see any reviews anywhere yet, I have ordered one and willing to be the first if nobody has one already, the problem is that only Argos seem to sell them, luckily for me our Argos is within a Sainsbury store so I won't be seen actually going into an Argos store, I will be collecting at 4pm today so will pull up my hoody in Sainsbury's and slide in and straight out, I won't take their carrier bag either ;)

I will be checking brightness, sound and viewing angle and of course the SMART features, you can BUY a copy of my full review at www.suckers.mhfun :D

How do you find the screen brightness, this one is 1080p LED? Some smaller TV's also seem to have sound issues, as there are no reviews I can find on this I will try it out this evening, the motorhome is a small place so hopefully it will be adequate (y)

That really depends on how much battery power you have, I only run an inverter when I have no choice. Decent hairdryers etc. Preferring to use 12v wherever I can, sourcing 12v macbook chargers etc. This is especially so of a telly that might be on a long time, because the inverter is using juice as well as converting it to 240. So I would always choose a 12v telly. You'd be surprised though how many cheap TVs do have a 12 volt option. That said if you have plenty of batteries and don't have the telly on all day you'll likely get away with a 240 TV and an inverter. Plenty do.

Have a good look around the back of all the TVs,a lot appear mains but are actually 12 v with a transformer

It will only be very occasionally if ever we need to use it on 12v hence the option, but after buying a firs stick yesterday it does seem amazingly cheap, its slim and does have the connectors in the right place, my only issue is the the holes for the swing arm wall mount seem rather high, I guess it depends what adjustment you have on your swing arm, but another thing to consider as I like things neat and tidy.

We do, our little inverter uses that little it often stays on all night after Ann's switched off. Then during the day it makes no difference how much power we use because the solar panel always makes too much, even when cloudy it keeps up ☁️?

Every single day...

I wouldn't if everything in my van ran on clockwork.

Then I would just need to wind up stuff when required...

How much power will a 100w panel gives that is what I have, is it a gimmick or worthwhile? 100w doesn't seem much in todays terms but hopefully better than nothing.

I'm always attached to power and have a 240v gas generator I can use if required, rarely use it but have used the electric generator a lot, it gives 12v and 240v

Amazon product ASIN B07DVGYDL5

Our 150w panel charges at 9 amps in full sun mid summer and about 2.5 amps with white cloud cover.

The thing is with it I don't usually see it's full amperage because it starts charging at dawn, slowly, while the sun is low and by the time it gets to say 11am the charge controller is slowing down the charge because the battery is getting full.

We are light users of power with LED lights, small TV, 2 phones and water pump being the main things. We would easily manage with a 100w panel if sunny, and just about manage if cloudy ?

I wonder why 100w is popular, is your 150w that much bigger than a 100w, don't know much about size v w and if there is a minimum size per w or some get more in, I don't know if I could get mine upgraded easily, more for keeping the van battery charged when not in use (y)

Apologies to everyone, I am ever so sorry, I have just realised I am actually going off track on my own thread which is not good as it does relate to NOT using a 12v TV.

Back on track now ;)

I didn’t realise you knew Brian.
Its not Brian, I spoke to him and he said he had a great evening with you, but he looks like a Brian ;)

Well I have set up the new 22" Smart Bush TV at home and I must say I am VERY impressed, its 1080p so not the 4k I'm used to but certainly does the job for the money. Not only that it has all the SMART facilities with Prime Video, YouTube, Netflix, iPlayer channels e.t.c. It was a pain setting all of these up because you need to do it now through a computer with user log ins and passwords for the accounts, some you can do on the TV so I would suggest before you take it to the van set it up at home.

The sound and brightness have lots of different choices in the settings, I now have the settings I like, sound is more than acceptable, its not the same as a SONOS soundbar but as I said can be set to your choice. It is lovely and slim, I have tried the SMART apps, OK they take a few moments to connect, 20 seconds in fact but once you are in the App everything is at good speed e.g. selecting films, these tests were done with it tethered to my phone so that could slow it slightly. The stand is held on with a button clip so if you wanted it free standing then no problem, I have watched it at up to 180 degree and only loss of physical sight rather than image.

For the money, £129, this SMART TV is a no brainer in my opinion, why pay £49 for a fire stick. Ok it doesn't have Alexa but you could always stick in a Fire Stick if you wanted (you need the adapter lead that comes with it as its too fat for the HDMI slots!), it doesn't have 12v but that is no issue to me, I would rarely use it on 12v and if I did would use an inverter, I haven't another seen a 22" I like in 12v, SO VERY HAPPY WITH THIS (y)

Thought that as nobody else sells it and Argos leaflets and customer care info were sealed in the Bush owners manual and remote control plastic packet. Thanks (y)

Just to add that it is just a lead to the power, no big unsightly transformer you have to try and hide, I do like things neat ;)

I would like to add that Wi-Fi is so easy to set up on this, everything is logical, even when you go to set up iPlayer it brings up a code and gives you the url to go to on a computer or tablet, you log in to say iPlayer on the computer and there is a space for the code, put in the code, press done and the TV somehow knows and tells you that you are now logged in, more 4 even has a video that shows you what to do, although a pain going into each app once it’s done it’s done. Don’t forget in settings you can check the firmware and update it, honestly for £129, a meal for two you have a nice little bit of kit. I might buy another for the front to save grandkids arguing, the connections and power are there just need to work out where to fix it OR I could leave it free standin and make a nice felt lined ply slot for it in the wardrobe ?
