My black trim has got white patches all over it, any tips on removing? I've tried back to black and others but none seem to work.

It's polish I guess and I've never found anything which will permanently remove it but a bumper treatment will cover it for a couple of months.

@Norfolk Nomad I've just had a look and I still have half a bottle of the Forever Black and as the Ducato has a new home and we are now black trim-less, if you want to give it a go then PM me with your address details and I'll post it to FOC.

@CCC I have a Fiat ducato PVC. Do you think from your experience that there would be enough to do all of it from a complete kit before I order 1 off eBay?
Thats wraparound back bumper and side skirts.
Thx

Panel wipe will clean it.
Don’t go made with it and test a small area first.

Thanks for the tips, I'll give them a try at weekend.

Have you tried the autoglym bumper and trim gel. Lasts well.

Linseed oil works very well as it reativates the plastic.

I've just used boiled linseed oil on my old T4 and it has brought the black shine back like new. The proof of the pud is, how long will this last ? Will keep you updated.

Believe it or not try some peanut butter on it. It works on my hab door handle.
How do folks find these remedies and what the hell were they thinking at the time?

Bit like the first person that said "I'm going to eat the next thing that comes out of that chicken"

What lovely folk we have here, talking of peanut butter I pinched some of Andrea’s last night for my new battery operated rodent humane killer, will take a look when it gets light.
Don’t like killing anything but we are in the country and they have done lots of damage here.Sorry to go off topic.

I used Forever Black to tart up all the black plastic trim on our Ducato after read online user reviews and a year on it look like the day I did it.

just applied this to white marks etc on our door handles and have to say im impressed so far!!

Dont know what happened there, but use some of this stuff it is excellent

I use WD40 sprayed onto a cloth, only needs redoing when I polish the van.

I used some Forever Black at the weekend. Stained all my water marked mid-grey plastics to a solid shade of black. Took a couple of coats to get rid of all the marks and sun damage. Van looks much neater now. We travelled back through some torrential rain at the weekend and did some back-lanes with plenty of undergrowth smacking the mirrors and bumper. Still nice and glossy black, so better than Back To Black!

Any oil , be it peanut, olive, WD40, old engine oil, baby oil, chip-pan oil, Back to Black etc will make them shiny, but it won't last .. a few weeks and they will be dull or white again..

Hot Air Gun.. plenty of videos on youtube

I tried the hot air gun approach. Heated it enough so the surface was glossy and soft enough to leave a small gouge where I gently touched the end of the heat gun against it. It did make it look better, but it was still patchy. Maybe it's more effective with black plastics than the mid-grey on my van?
