Been looking at ferry prices for France around the end of May/beginning of June. Is there a best time to travel, as in time of the day?

Usually early morning or late night offer the lowest prices. Just put in your dates and then have a look at prices. Best if you can book at the time of looking rather than going back to it later as the price is likely to have gone up if you do that. Alternatively book on a different machine if you have to do it later.

End of May Beginning of June around half term time - tunnel prices when I booked shot up last week end of May
Travelling mid week of last week of May was half the price of the previous week end

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
20% discount off the website fares on the DFDS Newhaven crossing if the 'lead person' is over 60, disabled, or a student. You have to book by phone to get it.

19 month year 18000 miles UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Germany, Italy. Campsites and off Grid.
Just go onto a site, put in a date and look at the prices that day. Tend to be cheaper in the morning and evening.

Over all crossings Irish ferries - Dover to Calais tneds to be the cheapest. I tend to go 9pm ish, park up over the channel. Sleep, travel onward the next morning.

Few years now
When i was looking for Chunnel crossings, 06:00 08:00 on Sunday was the best price for us. Would have been a bit cheaper between 00:00- 06:00, but didn't want to cross that early.

Cheapest and Best tend to be at opposite ends of the spectrum.
DFDS tends to be cheapest vs Tunnel at the other extreme.
Flexible tickest are just that (less waiting) but ay a price.

We tend to do Portsmouth Caen because we live in bournemouth. If you can get a reasonable price saturday , sleep over when you get there and then you get all day Sunday to travel without Lorry’s!

Hi there, we tend to go 6am to 7am from Dover. We drive down to the town the night before. This way we can have breakfast on the boat, then pop into Auchan before heading off by 11ish.
One word of warning - check the school holiday dates, we made a mistake of going on the Friday before half term - long delays
