I am a newbie
So picking up my new motorhome tomorrow but when you go away, what is the best way to BBQ? Can you recommend a good outside coal or gas BBQ that is light and small to put in the back of the van?

Many thanks Abi

Cadac Safari Chef and run it off the backup gas bottle. No need for a special outlet, just needs a Propane Regulator and away you go.

Divisive subject :D2
I'm of the bbq means real charcoal!
I have the Lidl version of the Lotus Grill - cost about £40
A battery fan in the base means it uses very little charcoal and gets to cooking temperature in about 12-15 mins (y)

Sorry
Anything but a Cadac its expensive and rubbish.:Eeek:
:imoutahere:

Having said that mines turned into a reasonable but very expensive bird table :rofl::doh::doh:

Bit like asking which sat nav 50% say Garmin is rubbish the other 50% say Tom Tom is rubbish.

Here you go if its a rainy day and you've several hours to spare see what was the worst gadget most people bought, entertaining if you're new to motorhoming.

We have decided to stay with the Cobb for now even though we have an external gas point.

Had the same Cobb for nearly 12 years now and it has done everything we needed throughout our boating life from roasts through to curry and everything in between. Think we might need to buy a new BBQ plate this year but not bad for the use we have given it especially seeing it has lived onboard the various boats in salty air all its life.

We switched from charcoal to gas about 6yrs ago as many campsites don't allow charcoal. We went for a Weber Q100 that we've been very pleased with. Run it on small gas cartridges when required but mainly from the main supply off the van. I like the hinged lid and thermometer.
