Just reading a letter in a magazine where someone (with an un-specified but recent MoHo) stepped outside without his keys and the unit locked itself. He says he found a paragraph in the manual stating that the system would re-lock all doors unless one of the cab doors remained open. Really?

I have a toad security system and fob.
I have been locked out while the keys and fob have been in my pocket.

but never been locked out as the hab door is not on the same system.

if I leave the keys in it without the engine running all the lights start flashing.
it may at one time have started the alarm but that’s been removed by another owner .
seems it was going off too much.

Yep. Last year my son bought a 2018 Chausson and took it back as the auto locking wasn't working. It had been disconnected.
After the dealer fixed it he auto-locked himself out twice in a week .
Luckily he'd left the bathroom window unsecured.

A feature with some (many) modern vehicles. I have a VW that did that but there is an option in the onboard programming to disable it. It may need access via the OBD port and software or dealer intervention if not available in the owners manual.

With my previous car, if I unlocked the vehicle, but didn't turn on the ignition, it would re-lock itself after a few minutes.

You have to be a certain weight and size to get in.
my age and my size I would not be able to have one😁

i will just stick with the old Moho with next to no tech .suits me fine.

past it trying to get in through a window I have to stick to the door. It’s an age thing.

I've seen food and booze posts which suggest that there must be many indulgent Funsters who have trouble using the door.

Just got a PILOTE 2022 model and the doors auto lock checked settings and disabled auto lock but it only works after a cab door has been opened and closed .

Can I ask please, where you were able to modify the settings to disable the "feature"? Assuming it was on a FIAT base vehicle?

If your alarm was dealer fitted then it may well be an Autowatch 695RLC.
If this is the alarm fitted to your Carthago then you can program out the auto re-lock feature.
If it is then send me a PM.

Ahh, no, we have the Vanbitz Growler alarm system installed, so that's not the answer for us then. I've just been reading about there being a possibility of the keys being too far away from the receiving antennae if they are left in the hab area, and not the actual cab area, thereby letting the system think the keys have left the vehicle, thus allowing the auto-lock feature to activate. I need to keep digging I fear. Whilst it is very handy having the central locking operate on the hab door as well as the left-hand side cab door, it's a bit of a worry that the dealership never mentioned anything about the probability of the vehicle auto-locking itself with the keys remaining inside. There have to be numerous situations whereby we would both need to be outside the vehicle together and potentially have left the keys hanging on the peg inside. Much more digging to do me thinks!

We are due to pick up our new Rapido on the 4th of August and having viewed it a couple of weeks ago we noticed it had this FEATURE 😀.
We have asked the dealer to disable it before collection. I'll report back when/ if its sorted

My autolock on both mh and car is deactivated by opening the drivers door. It can then be closed without the usual locking.

I wonder whether the same applies to a R/H drive A-Class with no driver's side door though? Are you saying that when we park up the van, send the levelling rams down, and switch the engine off we should then open and close the one and only L/H cab door briefly, and that would then deactivate the auto-relock feature from happening until the engine is re-started?

It worked for me, yours may be different. There was a setting in the menu for locking at a certain speed but not for the automatic relocking.
