We're going to be at Cite de Europe on Wednesday & wondered if any Funsters we're going to be there then? Seems like quite a few Funsters enroute to the UK at the moment :D:D

Evening Alb & Elaine,
We have just passed through the tunnel today so just missed you again!!

We were amazed at the amount of hgv's queuing up on the A16 due to the customs industrial action at the tunnel.

We had received a text from Eurotunnel telling us not to join the queue but still found it a bit daunting!
We approached from Boulogne and the lorry queue was about 5 km.

We passed the tunnel entrance as we were going towards the port to get wine at Pidou. When we returned towatds the tunnel, the lorry queue on the A16 was way beyond Jct 47 for the port.
The police motorcyclists were keeping an eye on the situation and with a bit of lane changing we made it to the "none - goods" lanes without much problem.
Once on to the flyover there was no problem with the lorries. Took us about 20 mins to get through customs.

Hope things clear up for you there by Wednesday.

We will be there on Saturday But going out and heading south , making sure we are going while we are still in the EU. We don't know whether we will be when we come back.

We are using tunnel tomorrow but arriving at Citie de Europe later today so even if we get held up-which doesnt seem likely-it won’t be a disaster!
Thanks for the info Barry.

Took us about 20 mins to get through customs.

Hi Barry - what time were you there? We joined the queue for check in at 1500 for a 1650 train and by the time we got through check in and customs we went straight to boarding.

Morning Colin,
We were booked on the 1220, arrived about 1020, were offered 1120 foc so took that and like you were waved straight through to boarding after border control.

Got an almost cursory swipe of the steering wheel from the French Customs and had tidied up the stack of wine in the hab area but they didn't even look inside:whistle:

Decided to sit tight on Canterbury P&R for a second night to let this "storm" pass before heading north tomorrow.

We had the wipe of the steering wheel which is awkward for them as the A Class window is set back so they have to stand on tip toe and lean in - I did offer to do it for them but they declined. The auto check in stopped working when I got to use it and although they rebooted they had to check me in manually which added about 20 mins to the time but it also seemed the French Customs were playing a game though as they were letting a couple of vehicles through then stopping the queue even though the English side had no queue. Our stack of Wine was also neat and tidy in the hab area :-)

arriving Wednesday early evening, but pushing on towards Rouen to overnight

We’re waiting to board now, French didn’t check anything, uk control took passports but did look or stop talking to her colleague.
No traffic on A16 yesterday, about 20 motorhomes on Cite Europe didn’t see any funster stickers.

We will be there on Wednesday ABW!!

I have just arrived ready for tunnel tomorrow.
There's an awful lot of British vans here - I suppose like me they wanted to get back to UK before 29th.
I don't suppose there is anyone here who can sort out my 12v - I think I have blown the main fuse.
Still, back to UK tomorrow so can manage without lights and heating for one night I guess!

Will be there Wednesday afternoon for Thursday morning train.
