I have just been caught again by these BaXXXdS I was ordering a book and went to pay the delivery instructions came up I clicked on Standard delivery, it flicked around and welcomed me to Prime.. It did it before and after a month, they cancelled it because I had an old credit card on the list and they couldn't grab my money. Be careful when dealing with Amazon as this is a scam that I cannot now stop, it must have been waiting until I ordered another item with a new card detail against my name.
Anybody know how to contact them as there seems no contact us on there, I got caught for a complete year before as I was signed up without knowing it and not having anything at all from them.. In the end I got my money back but a year after.

I too was caught out. When paying for a purchase the main and prominent text asked me to go ahead and purchase and only afterwards did I see in much smaller print the option to continue without purchasing Amazon Prime. I contacted Customer Services and they immediately cancelled my membership. I'm somewhat surprised Amazon have not been pulled up for this practice as it amounts to getting customers to join Amazon Prime by stealth.

You can cancel online, I think you click "my account". This has happened to me with prime and amazon music.
Also never fall for the next day delivery scam, it costs more and never (in my experience) arrived next day or the day after.

Open amazon.
Top left, 3 horizontal bars next to Amazon logo, click.
Scroll to customer services. Click.
Scroll to manage prime membership.

Contact us a bit further down.

If you subscribe to prime and its a prime item postage is free and the only option is next day.

That's probably how they caught me, not free if you take the monthly fee into account though.

Well I have just had another parcel turn up today, delivery paid for through Prime on Mrs 2x2' account :D.

I signed up for the free trial month but pressed wrong button and bought a year by mistake.

Cursed a bit but then found the content they had was excellent plus I have had LOADS of free deliveries so when the year ran out I paid for another one.

I LOVE Amazon and Amazon Prime.

Amazon. Welcome to bandit country.
They tried to fleece us recently. Have closed our account and will nrver use them agsin.

I got Prime for the 3 muppets (Grand Tour) but I wouldn't be without it now. We have Netflix as well and Amazon is better value although they are always trying to get more money out of me. Not easy, I'm a Yorkshireman. :D2

I got caught by the one click button and unwittingly signed up to Prime. Imeditlycancelled it on line, you still get the 30 day free trial, liked it so then signed up for another free trial on my other account. Now pay for it as we watch more on Amazon than normal TV.

When looking to buy something recently I realised that I must have clicked something by mistake as it was prime delivery shown at checkout.

Not wanting Prime I didn’t continue with the purchase and bought the item (slightly cheaper) from eBay.

I then received an e-mail “Welcoming me to my new Prime account”, and I hadn’t even bought anything!

Took me about five minutes to find out how to cancel.

As I am considering ditching Sky TV, in favour of Freesat and either Netflix or Amazon, I may well still take up Prime but at a time of my choosing, not theirs.

I consider their system to be pressure selling.

I had the free trail a long, long time ago and promptly cancelled it.
A year or two later I got bombarded with free trial ads on just about every amazon page so took them up on the offer.
Then I noticed I didn't have a free trial and was £70 light in my bank account (it was £70 then)
Rang them and kicked off for being conned into subscribing, ie: why offer a trial when I'm not entitled to one etc, and got refunded.
Now I get genuine trial offers but I'm linked to her account so don't need it.

I’ve had Prime for years, on the UK site and now the French site. My daughter uses it to order stuff too and we all use Amazon video.
Sure, it can be expensive if you don’t order much stuff, but we do, so it works out much cheaper than paying postage.

I got on to my account and cancelled from toady. the way to do it is unclear. I get somethings but never watch TV at home so most they do is not wanted. Sharp practice the way they work. somebody one day will stop them, one day! some hope.

I love my prime membership, all manner of things are available and most turn up the next day and some even the same day, recently i was after Kashmiri chillies for a recipe, they are milder and more red then normal ones, i would have had to drive miles to find them if not for Amazon.

I accidentally signed up for Amazon Prime, the 30 day trial, but silly me forgot to cancel it. However I did find it very useful so have let it run and now find that Amazon tends to be the first place I go when ordering anything on line that I can't find easily locally. I do occasionally check prices elsewhere but with the free postage and, most times, next day delivery they're better value.

I appreciate it doesn't work for everyone - but Amazon is not alone in the so-called scam technique to sign you up.

Surf carefully out there folks!

I use Prime all the time. I find it incredibly efficient and items do arrive next day FOC. We use Prime video a lot when we’re travelling.

I think it’s great.

I'm still waiting for the rear number plate I ordered from a 3rd party seller on the 6th July and fitted on the10th July.
According to the amazons tracking it must be lost in post as the seller hasn't submitted any further tracking details. Post Office tracking show it delivered 10th July.
Bought some perfume for Shirl from 3rd party seller as amazon didn't do a presentation pack. Wrong stuff sent so requested a return.
Two days later still heard nothing so had to get amazon to step in. Same day got authorisation.
Bought the same stuff from amazon without the fancy box....delivered next day.
There's a reason a rarely buy from 3rd party sellers.

Your plate is proably on a stolen van heading for Heysham.

I was a bit wary when I signed up for prime but I think it’s great. Amazed how often I order something in late afternoon or evening and get it next day. I buy loads of stuff off them. The music and tv is good too, well worth the money. I just wish they treated their employees better but they do seem to be working on it. Oh, and the packaging is often ridiculous and over size for the item which bugs me a bit but they do look after their customers so overall, I like

Andrew had £79 take from his account, prime in a recurring subscription but I as a new customer could get it for £59 so he canceled his and I bought a prime member and added him as a family member for free. We live prime and watch quite a few films and get free delivery on other stuff.

Never had a late delivery with Amazon Prime,,also some decent tv programs..BUSBY.

I signed up to Prime quite deliberately, it's excellent. Fast delivery, movies, music, kindle books. Value for money in my opinion. Anyway, works for us.

I have just resigned from Amazon Prime, had it at least 12 months, never used the Firestick, or the music as we have Deezer, and we dont order enough each month to cover the £7.99 PCM membership costs, although they did highlight that we had saved £5.98 this month on postage, which is rare.
May go back on when we need stuff and they offer the 30 day trial again, after the 7th August when it ends.
Les

Where does it tell you what you saved? I’d be interested to see my stats
