Hi guys, is there a way to check the level of add blue or do you have to wait until it requires topping up ?
Many thanks

Does your vehicle manual have this in? I don't use adblue

I understand you have about 1500 miles after the warning light comes on.

Hi and thanks for the reply. Yes vehicle does require add blue. What’s wrong with having a good old dipstick or some other form of level indicator that we can see !

Just top it up until its full ,then there is no guessing .Best to use the pumped addblue as that will automatically switch off when full ,plus it's cheaper. If you fill from home add 500 cc at a time so you don't spill too much. (y)

Also pump ad blue is fresher as it has a higher turnover

£20 for 10 litres at Halfords
A tenner delivered for 10 litres on Amazon. We are lucky in that you can select a gauge on the dashboard. When it gets between a quarter and a half, 10 litres goes in which takes it to not far off full. Cannot use a pump as Mercedes have the amble filler point by the engine and very hard to get to in an A class

My Hymer/Mercedes had an AdBlue gauge which could be accessed from the on-board computer when stationary. Very helpful and no idea why most manufacturers think a warning light is sufficient.

You can get a %age level from a reading from your OBD port as when I had an issue the RAC told me what the level was. That said I’ve not been able to find an affordable OBD reader.

If buying at a garage it can be brought by the litre, so just put X amount in every X amount of miles, you know you will always have some then.

I have the same (chassis anyway) and the adblue gauge can be read also whilst travelling - agree fully with the thought that other manufacturers should do the same

Mine gave up 50 to 70 miles after the light came on, ended up being recovered to a Fiat garage. If it’s a Fiat don’t wait for the light to come on, I top up with 3 to 3.5 litres every 1000 miles.

My Peugeot car gives me 1500 miles warning. (y)

Not today they don't it's £21.99 for 10 litres.

£7.50 for 4 litres at Tesco https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/300840203
So Halfords still cheaper.

Wow, I bought some from Halfords 2 months ago for £12 X 10 litres because Toolstation had sold out and both Tesco and Aldi hadn't any.A week later ,toolstation had stock at £10 and then a load came into Aldi ,I was a bit miffed cos that was £10 or £11 per 10 litres..
It's certainly gone up in price.

Yes it has and the trouble is that it's like fuel, you've got to keep putting it in albeit no so often. So we're stuffed and have to pay whatever the market price goes up to.
