View from lounge window this morning. Unfortunately for us and the neighbours, the view across the lovely open countryside opposite our properties is about to disappear forever under bricks and mortar (see red and white pegs). I appreciate as a country we need more and more houses to cope with demand, but not nice when it takes away such an lovely unspoilt view in the heart of a small Suffolk village. It could be a lot worse, at lease we still have some beautiful uninterrupted views across open fields at the rear.

Not fun when this happens, but I live in a a new build (on grey land) but I have a relative who to ensure this could not happen got together with their neighbours and bought the field years ago. Not they are looking to retire and down size so his share will go with the house. But they are now sitting on very expensive real estate and all the neighbours are approaching the same point in life...….watch this space as such

I sympathise totally.

Your photo could easily have been one taken of our drive, motorhome and car with open countryside on the other side of the road.

Our open fields are designated for potential building but, as yet, no planning applications have been made. We still feel privileged to have had the opportunity to enjoy our location for this long. We won’t even try to object to any building plans as there is a shortage of housing in the area but we will miss the open views.

Quite good actually, got nothing else to spend it on. Just ordered 12 bottles of Rose and currently hiring into the first of two 10 litre red wine boxes from France last year
