Terrible photos but a fluffed up goldfinch has been sat on our bird feeder - not moving - for 20 minutes (and is still there) - any ideas DBK ?
Not a happy goldfinch. Might be ill. If it stays there while other birds are coming and going I suspect it may not be for this world much longer. Might have met a cat, flown into a window or just old age. Small birds like this typically only live a couple of years, perhaps three or four if they are lucky. :(

We opened the door at the same time as another goldfinch arrived at the feeder. It flew off into the hedge, so hopefully it’s just over-indulged (like myself) and is now sleeping it off in our hedge!
You’re sleeping it off in a hedge? Wtf have you been drinking my love ;)

Happy New Year to you both btw(y)

 Always the wag Simon - I’m at home patiently nursing Cliff who has the lurgy. We had a lovely NYE at Shrewsbury though.

Love to you and Marg and HNY - hope to catch up soon xx

Small fishing village today just south of Hua Hin, Thailand.
Cheers

Edit: In the location of the first shot, earlier there was a very large monitor lizard sunning itself on the sand, we originally thought that it was a bit of log, but it moved and so did we, in the opposite direction.
