Are these any good? My chinese 1000w one used to work fine but has collapsed. Looking for one for which I don't have to use the inverter.

Many thanks

The general opinion is that they are pretty useless.

Yes. They always have been and remain pretty useless.

Bought one for SWMBO a few years ago.

Think she used it twice, it’s good for a door stop 😉😊

a legit amazon review

My wife tried one, laughed then threw it in the bin. Useless. ;)

Time it to wash your hair with taking the roast beef out of the oven..

Turn oven orft and stick your head in.... (y)

See, I can do sensible occasionally....:giggler::*

Get one of these, only need to use it once every fortnight and you'll never need a hair dryer again

I had one and it was useless but worse than that it melted the 12 v connection to the socket. That was the end of me trying to dry my hair in the motorhome off grid!

This may be an idea ....... when we use our oven on the moho cooker, there is a fan at the rear of the grill compartment, which blows the heat in the grill compartment out of the gap above the closed grill door hence to dissipate the heat we usually open the grill door. Yes reader, I certainly have sat down on the floor at the side of it so my shining locks can dry quicker. Plus of course you can still get gas tongs/curling brush - Babylis, £25.

This issue has come up before and the general consensus was that 12v hairdryers are useless.
However, the following is what I recommended the last time we discussed how to avoid looking like you’ve come through a hedge backwards.
Hair Straighteners.jpg

I use these Hair Styla USB hair straighteners. Wash and dry hair, then run your locks through the straighteners several times and they style adequately. Obviously, not as good as GHDs or probably the Dyson, but as these only cost me the equivalent of about £25 I am more than happy not to look like a happy camper. They recharge within about 20-minutes.

Roast Beef! in the van! Yum, Yum! Bring it on Mo.(y)
You forgot to mention that you can use any leftover Horse Radish, or Mustard as a setting Gel, just combe through from front to back.(y):giggle:
Any left over Yorkshires can also be used as ear muffs on cold days.(y)
See your not the only one with useless useful idea's Mo.

On one of our previous vans I fitted a tee piece and extension hose to the feed to the passenger side warm air outlet which was stowed in the passenger glove box. Once we were on the road and the engine was warm, a couple of adjustments to the blower and outlet valves, the Navigation, Catering and Soft Furnishings Manager had copious amounts of warm air to dry her wet hair.
