Long time!
Met up with my Son and his family over the weekend on a site, they had a glamping pod.

Haven't seen him or our lovely grandsons since Sept last year.

To bloody right we socialised in the Moho.. seeing kickballers kissing and cuddling each other (to mention one example) etc, makes a mockery of it all 😡
Just because someone else does it doesn't make it right does it, so blaming it on the fact that someone else has broken the rules doesn't cut it. At least have the courage to say you just broke the rule.

Since day of one all the lockdowns, my family and I have adhered to all the rules and advice given by the government.

We are model citizens.

Yet I see sports seem to be exempt, tuppeny hapeny 'celebs' doing there own thing, even MPs 'accidently' breaking the rules... with little or no comeback.

You know what? I'm thoroughly p*ssed off with being taken for a mug, so I'll use my loaf and take my own 'chances'.. and don't worry, I'll keep me diseased body away from you all.

I've had one jab.
I'm doing the free NHS rapid tests.
I'm am confident that I neither have the virus, nor am carrying it and am protected against catching it.
So that covers me and those I come into contact with.

Whether or not I'd be breaking some law or not would be my decision but I wouldn't ask for opinions on a highly partisan forum.

I have made my decision which is to toe the line but considered it a reasonable subject for discussion.

Do whatever u think is right.
There are so many exceptions to the rules that are in your face every time the TV is on it beggars belief.
Just think on our open border policy with India before someone thought to close it and what of the thousands who got back before it closed?
We have been in virtual isolation since the start of the first lockdown and personally I have had enough. I will asses the risks as I see them from my perspective and do what I think is right.

How does that work Jim?

All the squads living together? How many in squad 20?, how many squads?

It’s a nonsense, boxers sweating all over each other.. rugby teams.. the list is endless.
I think you’ll find they are tested regularly not like the majority of people.
If they fail the test they have to isolate and keep away from other team members.

People do wear their masks, but then pull them down around their chins & rub the edges of their mouths before sanitising.
If you don't believe me, just sit outside a shop & observe human behaviour, its actually addictive.

This is why I got into the habit of keeping my facemask on until I get back to my van. I sanitise my hands after offloading bags into van, then remove the facemask.

Now those same old gits have had their jabs, feeling immortal and behaving just as badly/selfishly. Oh the delicious irony. :D. :reel:

Why can’t you just be patient for that little bit longer. It’s nearly the 17th May.

Maybe I won’t bother to obey the rules when I’m giving the AstraZeneca jab tomorrow, I’m sure I don’t really need to bother. I’m sure it’s all a conspiracy to make our lives difficult.

Do you have an awning or quest shelter then you could sit inside with plenty of ventilation, I would think that’s within the rules as people from 2 households can share a pod at a pub.

Getting there!
Still outside for us although our last trip was supposed to be with friends on the next pitch but they cancelled a couple of days before as they both tested positive for covid... CAMC gave them a black mark for cancelling just to rub it in

Ah yes, the single layer of thin cotton that stops the deadly virus!

That is why all staff in an operating theatre have worn masks for over a century.
Simple and effective.

Yes if people use them properly, but far too many don't.
How long do people use them for before they either change or properly clean them.
In a medical situation they are changed on a regular basis.

quite a few years now, and loving every minute..
nowhere have i seen any covid vaccine that guarantees 100% immunity against catching or passing on the virus..
being vaccinated against it gives us a fighting chance of not becoming seriously ill, needing hospitalisation or dying from it..
we can still catch it, we can still pass it on, but if we all remain sensible and follow the simple rules we have been given then we will in time defeat the damn thing and keep ourselves and our loved ones safe..

No it doesn't! Where does it say that in the rules. You're only allowed to walk through to get to an outdoor area or use the loo so unless you've got a Roman style one that seats everyone at the same time it's out!

Walk through what? It is a private motorhome, not a house or living accommodation. If a mask can be worn whilst being in any of the attached shown in these regs what is the difference?

Not that I'd be condoning doing it but this seems to cover anything missed from the list.

"You should also wear a face covering in indoor places not listed here where social distancing may be difficult and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet."

We are off to a site for the weekend and meeting up with Sister and BIL in their motorhome , we have all had both jabs and us two had the virus in December.
We normally spend time in each others motorhomes in evenings to sup a bevvy or three and on the face of it should be safe to do this now but it’s contrary to the covid regulations , should we and would you??

No and no is my opinion.

We recently spent a very sociable 3 nights in Derbyshire with Mr and Mrs Jenben. Walking, cycling and plenty of eating and drinking. We BBQ'd each evening and then sat around a fire pit putting the world to rights and having a drink or two.

Yes, we were dressed up like going on an Antarctic expedition, but that was a small price to pay for being able to meet up with friends again.

I’m having my second jab on Saturday, just had a text message to meet up with friends outside our local on Friday, turned down the offer, not been in a pub for over 12 months, will wait until you can go inside and then give it a couple of weeks to see how that works out. No point in rushing things as I’ve waited long enough. I know I’m not immortal ! 😂😂🍷😂😂🍾😂😂🎉

Never seen any operating theatre staff wearing a homemade single thin cotton mask!
That is only because you are not old enough !

My Mum was a theatre nurse in the early 1950's.
Nurses were expected to sew their own masks (and aprons) which were typically made out of old hospital bedsheets.
(They were washed daily, so each Nurse had to have at least a set of five, each embroided with their name or initials)
