Just had my first experience driving in heavy snow. Decided to head up to Loch Lomond. No gritters out and the roads are treacherous. No way am I driving back in this. Now parked up in our favourite lay by. We have no shovel to get out but heyho at least we are warm and safe and can stay tonight. As im typing this I can see an ambulance racing past. Hopefully no one is hurt if its an accident.

Not the ideal vehicle to take on snow is it.

I worked on Deeside one Feb, in the van, oh boy did I sweat.

You're hardy Motorhomers!
As long as you get no more snow you'll be able to get out . You're way braver than me!

First year under our belt!
Wow! I think our mh would need a lot more insulation for us to consider doing that. Good luck!

We set off for France and as we entered the M11 on route it started to snow and it didn't stop until we were South of Orleans.
Spent one night parked next to a supermarket trolley shelter
Autocruise Starspirit with the old but brand new Michelin XC tyres and never got stuck in a 400 mile drive of it.

im a not so newbie
We are in Iceland, not in a MH i have to say, but had around 3 inches of snow over night and all the local drivers are driving the same as the day before with no snow

Even the buses and coaches still get around

I have to say all seem to run winter tyres some are studded :D

No shovel!!!!! How you going to clear the 2ft of snow tomorrow.

Note to self for future...need a shovel for moho...with the hope a nice man will come along & clear it all for me. :whistle:Failing that drink the bottle of Ardbeg (from the emergency/medicinal provision cupboard of course!)...and then breathe on it all to clear the path easily...won't be needing diesel heating either as I'll not feel the cold by then...what a bonus:clap::roflmto:

Looks like it is fairly localised to where you are, no snow on the surrounding traffic cams and the Erskin bridge is clear but, there is a fallen tree on the carriageway between Balloch and Luss which is causing a few problems at the moment.

Its gone off now, the sun is out. That will explain why the traffic was tailbacked, thx for the info. We may head home later if road clears.

My hubby thinks it's a dynamic suspension thingy, it senses when a wheel is not gripping and corrects.
