Would a Hymer B584 be good for medium to long term living? If not, which MH? [Tiny Budget]

Hi,

Looking at getting a second hand B584 for some medium to long term living!
Read a top 10 list and these scored quite high, and are the only thing that is in any way affordable for me [well, when I get the money together!]
Ideally for me but would like it to be comfy for 2 of us as well.

Is there a better option for a second hand buy?

I am 6'4'' so really need a little more space than the average bear.

Thank you for your wisdom!

I have fulltimed for over 11 years now in a few different vehicles.

If budget allowed and my requirements meant a coachbuilt was required then the Hymer 584 would be at the top of my list.

I like it because the little table with seat would make a perfect office area for me to work from. The drop down bed mean I have the space during the day without having to make a bed up each day.
The lounge seat is perfect for relaxing and watching a film on my computer from the table. The separate shower is an essential for a fulltimer in my opinion.

As it happens I moved from a Euramobil 770HS to self builds to get the layout I wanted exactly at a budget I could afford. The 584 still sits as the only coachbuilt I do still think about though.

Thank you so much, this is just what I wanted to hear lol!

Your thoughts have really helped.

Thanks!

There is a very nice 2001 LHD B584 at the moment on Ebay priced at £17950. Plenty of history too.
Thank you! My budget will be more around 10k, given the amount of time it's going to take to squirrel it away - ans I do mean squirrely it away!! will have a look tho!

Thanks for replying!

I don't think you will get a 584 for 10K in good enough condition to last you as a full timer. I was looking at the £15-£20K price mark when I last looked which is why I went the self build route.

I would also suggest one more thing. Your van will eventually shuffle off this mortal coil and need replacing. Estimate how long this will take then religiously put enough money into a savings account each week/month to cover the replacement. I didn't do this and regretted it big time.

Oh man!

That's a bit depressing - might have to sell my battered and bruised body for spare parts!! :DDDD

But thx for info, just going to have to work damn well harder!! [don't really believe in loans etc.

Thank you!!
