What unusual birds have you found brought in by this winter storm?

I caught this in the garden today, quarter to 5 and full sun - woodcock (unless anybody thinks otherwise?) - it's a first for me! Feeding for at least an hour till I stupidly managed to frighten it away. West coast of Isle of Skye.

Yes, definitely a Woodcock, a lovely bird, very rare and reclusive too, so you are very lucky.

In previous winters when it has been really snowy we have had black grouse in the garden, the house is high up on the moors.
