Who does full timers cover OTHER than Comfort ?

AIB gave a quote £40 more expensive than Comfort.Turns out they just rang Comfort as they said quote from Victor Milne which is a registered name for Comfort Insurance.
So no choice out there ,take it or leave it but leave it is not a option.
Sounds like our present political debate .

Is this a definite as there must be several people on here who are or have been FTL in 10+ year old campers surely? If it is so what are the 'alternatives' to full time insurance ie what is the longest period of 'normal' insurance and what do you need to do to reset the timer as in return to the UK etc etc?

Lots of full timers in older vans are winging it by using a friends/relatives address for insurance purposes.

Comfort and AIB confirm no older than 10 years for full time cover.

Strangely NUF will not issue us with a standard policy if van value over £75,000 !

Lots of new vans pushing that value nowadays.

Seems strange to me as I got insured for a higher amount with them in March 2019. Couldn’t get it to start with as I wanted breakdown cover as well and they wouldn’t do that as I was over 3.5t. Once I dropped that requirement I was good to go.

Not sure if it is true but believe with comfort van has to be under 10YO when insurance starts but they will continue to insure you after that time.

My vans an 08 and I just took out a policy full timing with them, as long as your vans worth more than £25k apparently all good.

We are full timers, and use safeguard insurance, with 365 breakdowns cover.
