Just looking
Planning to get back into motorhome touring game again after nearly 20 years out. Back then it was camping card asci, all the aires in France as books and a uploaded file in my tomtom.

Looking at the options now: campy, park4night, camper contact, stayfree, etc what are people finding most valuable. Look for a combination of aires, some occasional paid for sites and good wild camping spots.

Thanks

Everyone here has their favorites but mine Search4SIte first and Park4Night as a second if I can't find any spots near where I'm staying.
S4S tends to have more proper locations whereby P4N will have some random places thrown in which can prove useful.

For France we found S4S useful for a number of years. Outside of France it is not so good.
We tried campercontact last year (paid version) and found it did the business
But each year I had been rather anti P4N but ppl kept using it so thought I would give it a go on the paid version. Once we had worked out what we had considered rubbish places we got on really well with it.

Certainly in Germany, P4N will have substantially more reviews and therefore more up to date information and think we will be sticking with it. Definitely got more Free sites than the others but read descriptions and always have a B plan

Park 4 Night for me. I've tried search for sites twice and don't like it, can't remember why now 🤔☺️
That happened to me too, couldn't use SFS even after paying the subscription (which has now lapsed without using it). So P4N only, for me.

SfS and P4N are both useful, my go too is SfS. I find P4N lists a lot of unsuitable places, roadside laybys and such like, certainly in the UK, EU may be different.
Both worth looking at though
Search in your hometown and see what comes up and if you think they're ok ?

That's one of the advantages of P4N for me. Sometimes a layby is all you need for one night or a small parking lot. I don't always want an all singing and dancing site with all the services.

We find S4S good for the UK not so good for mainland Europe prefer Camper Contact for there. P4N is a last resort only use in emergencies, too many places only suitable for small V Dubs and coordinates often wrong never had much luck with it.
