I found this on the drive just now.
It wasn't on that part of the drive where the van sits and it just could have been part of a load of 'stuff' that formed part of a neighbours clear out, (very near the road.)
Somehow it's familiar?

Looks like a slide along bolt bracket. The kind that slide in the channel of a roof rack or similar, allows adjustment of where you want to fasten down. (y)
Will give you my adress at the Pershore meet for the Xmas card

I hope it is not part of your step that failed next door to us at Little Winnick in 2019!

It’s a Gizzintae For the English Goes into the bin as no one knows what it is for

Certainly looks like an old clamp from a roof rack

Serious head on now, Derek.....:Eeek:

It`s a threaded clamp..... (y)

Or part of a roof rack? The bit that locks it to the roof?
That's what I thought.BUSBY.

It`s to stop your spare wheel rattling around in the boot and annoying the hell out of You?. (or similar):giggle:

Can I thank all participants.
I particularly like the general concensus that it's a part of a roof rack/clamp etc.
That means it ain't mine and therefore heading for 'Dusty'

Don’t sling it, add it as a raffle price for all those who gave an intelligent answer.

put it in the bin and think what to tomorrow

Today I got the answer to the original question.

On the 16th July I cut the informal (for that read Bloody wild) Hedge.

It was then that I found the above 'whatsit'

Today, I had to cut said hedge again (It's gonna have to go)

I 'discovered that the above part is actually one of the two clamps that hold the
handle of the hedge trimmer onto the er Hedge Trimmer.

I had to callyfudge an alternative.
Bu&&er!!!

It's a clamp off a hedge trimmer !! I claim my prize as the most intelligent answer. Can you also include the part the clamp fits to please ie the hedge trimmer as it would be unsafe for you to use it with only one clamp.....

🥳🥳🥳
