Okay, stupid question. How did you get the hose out? Otherwise brilliant tip!
There's a collar around the electrical connection, I softened the end pushed it on and it allowed me to start it in the thread without dropping it or cross threading. Once started it pulled off and final tightening with box spanner.
Glad to hear it's an old mechanics tip Cox I figured it out all by myself (y) as I don't know any old mechanics.

Not fixing myself but just taking to garage to have n/s and o/s ball joints replaced as I had advisory on MOT. Before we go away for 4 to 6 weeks in UK hope to get a bit of fishing in.:reel:

Fitted new metal clips to the skylight, the ones that hold the plastic surround on. Had to order them from Germany!

Went to replace the gas filter - the old one was still in pristine condition so I'll leave it for now. Amazing when you consider the amount of gas that's been through it, including Moroccan!

Removed the old (spare) Shurflo fresh water pump ready to strip down and overhaul.

Ordered a replacement lens for the luggage rack light I managed to smash by reversing into a post (no other damage). £24 from Thule, £9.95 off Ebay.

Started to replace the Fiamma sidewall mounts for the awning legs (broke one of them) then realised I'd left the sealant at home (van in storage yard).

All stupid little jobs that tend to accumulate when you're away for 3 months. Still got a couple of bigger jobs to do but need to bring van home for them.

A very careful explanation, thank you.
We might have got the wrong end of the stick if worded differently

Son, Adam, fitted a pull to the front of the cutlery drawer in my Nuevo using a bit of a lanyard which had already been repurposed to attach his Funster flag to the flag pole.

Not fixed yet. Would like some advice. The grab rail on the door of my Bessacarr e350 snapped off (because I was swinging on it). I have a replacement but when I went to remove the bolts on the old one, they just spun round and round without loosening. They are Allen key fittings. I took the seat belt panel off to see if I could get behind the fixtures but it is a tight squeeze and cannot really see how to do it. Any ideas?
Could you take a few photos of the work area? Before and after the mishap with as much light as possible.

Having trouble with the Rocker box gasket leaking. Trying to source a gasket for a 1.8 petrol engine, circa 1992, have been told it's obsolete. Tried the internet, found plenty for the diesel engines of that year(s)

Anyone have any ideas where I can source one?

A cork sheet was my last option Bill, the problem is it has an "arch" on one end, but thanks anyway Bill for the Coastal M/H tip will give 'em a go tomorrow.

Installed DAB radio with Aerial on the roof. Was fed up with crap reception from standard pillar aerial.

Fitted Aluminium mesh behind Grille. Had A/C condenser replaced by dealer as it had small hole in it. Cost them £700 so didn't want to risk a stone taking it out.

Been busy this week, just finished fitting second solar panel, a bit of a pain as I wired it directly to the leisure batteries (it has its own controller, so by-passed the Sargent System) and finding a route for the wires took a little figuring out but completed now and no visible wires to be seen. Also rectifies the oven fan which failed in Morocco. The problem was heat and shoddy oven build. The wire insulation from the fan melted and shorted on a bit of the oven that was not insulated. I re-connected and re-routed so no longer in contact with hot parts of oven and it's working again. I also cut and fitted a new replacement door mat from an Aldi rubber door mat. They last about a year and are cheap as chips. I will buy more when they appear again this year.
