Elddis Accordo 105

Learning every day!
Hi, Looking at a 2018 Occordo 105 with 3500 miles on the clock. Do you think £45K is a good price?? Don't want to just jump in but I quite like it! Oh, and should I bargain on price, although it is with a dealer? Your expertise advice here is most welcome! :)

Never heard of that make but yes negotiate , more likely to get extras thrown in rather than a discount.

Based on prices when we were looking (but decided not to buy in the end) that seems reasonable (condition dependant obviously) - but yes you need to shave a bit off that anyway because the dealer will expect it.

Have a read here.

A typo I suspect, they obviously meant Accordo. (y)
Yes, it is Accordo... And thank you all for the info... Now I feel 'armed' and ready to negotiate!

If it's the Elddis Accordo 105 they are a lovely little van. We looked at a new one a few years ago and was impressed. The rear opening lid is useful particularly if you're into water boards or canoes. If in good order doesn't seem a bad price

I had a 2016 Accordo (actually a Marquis Majestic- dealers own version with extra goodies, uprated engine.) which I bought with a similar mileage to yours at two years old for £42K. At that time a basic Accordo was about £45K new! I know prices have gone a bit crazy post Covid but unless it has a lot of added goodies - solar panels, wind-out awning, refillable gas, lithium habitation battery etc., I'd say it was a little bit over-priced. I know that now they are north of 60K new but try and get him below £40K.

Six years old with an average annual mileage of less then 600 miles. There is a view that such low use can cause problems. If you don't know about motorhomes, best get an independent inspection done. Then you could use that for any negotiations on price or extras to be fitted.

A good point for negotiation is to get the dealer to replace the tyres. Six year old rubber is on the cusp of being too old and it’s a good way to negotiate, as a decent dealer should be selling a safe vehicle.

Indeed, once damp tested and everything normal with a new van, negotiate on extra installs (solar if not there, batteries, external gas point, pretty much anything that is either expensive or difficult to fit on a van with your stuff in it).
You may often find such additions can be negotiated for at parts cost with zero fitting fees.

6 year old van, check cambelt done, and if not get it done as part of deal, ditto tyres. Oil change and Filters as a minimum you should ask to be rolled into the deal, ie, minor (or full service)..

Neogitating cold hard cash is less likely in todays (high) motorhome prices, unless the dealer has a lot of stock.

In our case we got a brand new leisure battery, a external gas and electric point for the bbq/awning... and some minor cosmetic items fitted, all for sub £100 + service. (Leisure battery alone was £250 retail). We couldn't insist on the cam belt in ours as it still had a year and a half left on it. Ie, we didn't get a discount on the van price, but did get around £500 in "stuff", ditto got them to throw in milenco levellers + water hose + a bottle of calor.

It's a crazy price for a 6 year old van like that but they all are at the moment, nothing you can do about it.

I was just thinking the same.
We bought a new Elddis Accordo 120 in Dec 2016 for £38k. Just checked the current price £68k!!!
We got £30k for it when we traded it in two years later. I know prices have gone crazy and a quick search on Autotrader appears to indicate that the price of £45k is about right for a 2018 model. But the market is changing and dealers have a lot more stock so no harm in starting with a much lower offer and be prepared to walk away.

We've had a 2018 Elddis Accordo 105 Prestige from new, which came with £6k of extras compared to the standard model. We paid £43k for it. We've since added A&P self levellers and a twin Gaslow system. It's now got 16,000miles on the clock and last year our insurance gave it a value of £48k.
We've had no issues whatsoever, and are delighted with it. For us, we've found the perfect van. At 5.99m long it fits in our drive which was a limiting factor for us. (y)

Wow, that's a steep increase! Sounds like you love your little MH and it's really what I am looking for. Been browsing sites since November so have honed down what I want, what I need and what I actually need :)

Thanks, yes, I'll certainly push on getting them replaced

thanks for the positive feedback. I'm traveling alone and have always been a light traveller so I think the size is just right for me. :)

With that low mileage it will have spent most of it's life sitting around so be aware of problems with the clutch slave cylinder, brakes & engine.
Probably has the original tyres they will need changing due to age, even more important with low mileage.

Off topic but I wonder if that's what causes issues with comformatic.

Don't think so most of the ones with problems on here are various mileages. Probably more to do with the way they are driven.
No I meant sitting around a lot, May do 6k a year but could be 5k done on EU trip then sitting around for 6 months till next trip. I guess we will never know.

Comformatic or manual, sitting around will cause a sticking slave cylinder which of course bu**ers the clutch as well.

Is that what causes the clutch petal to drop to the floor and requires you flick it back up with your toes? That happened to our fiat and cost nearly a grand to repair. Fortunately it was done under warranty.

It's either the slave cylinder or master cylinder, can't remember which apart from it's the one that needs the gearbox out.

It’s a good point. I got a 2021 van at the end of 2022 with only 1400 miles on it. The fridge packed up, gas burners blocked on the hob… leisure battery never seemed to do very well off grid and was subsequently replaced… low use can be as bad as high use. 6 years old now, has brake fluid been changed, normal servicing, starter battery health ok!? Give it a serious going over.

Ask the dealer for the HPI report he has on the vehicle or should have, if hasn’t get one yourself. It will give you info on the life of the van, hire purchase, accidents, owners etc.

Probably the slave cylinder, expensive job as the gearbox has to come out.
