Vintage Festival of Light - Ashover

We received yesterday our motorhome passes for the weekend, we did put madcaravanner on the form, no pack received though
 
Motorhome pass arrived yesterday with "Madcaravanner" written on it along with a note about vehicle movements and getting to dry ground on Sunday as no tractor on Monday.

Was I expecting a "pack" ?
 
Hi Motorhome passes came with madcaravaner on it no pack or events program just a vehicle movement instructions .

Sent ours last week also, not had a reply yet marked it Madcaravaner.

Getting Closer to the rally will be getting there as early as possible (well only live 4 miles away )

If anyone wants to sell anything feel free to do so - I haven't organised anything though anyone want to meet up and bring a bottle or three my awning is open
 
Morning @Madcaravanner - can I just say that we are yet to receive anything back after sending the payment off at the beginning of this month.

Anyone else got something back that sent theirs recently?

Takes a short while as they are all volunteers who organise the fair they do not employ anyone so it does take around a month

Looking forward to meeting all of you

Those of you we met this weekend at Bob and Terry's FFF Rally - was great to meet you

I will be there on the first day probably on my own so please bear with me I will be flying my Union Flag and hopefully will pick up a motorhome Fun flag from Malvern

On another tack

I will not be organising anything formal (though will have open house in my awning) there is live music on the stage all weekend

there is a Bar run by local Brewery Brampton Brewery - a real ale brewery

There are a number of food stalls and of course everything will be lit with fairy lights and if you've got them stick them up please

Locally there are three good pubs all nearby the showground the Black Swan and Poets Corner are good for food I'm told
If you like a walk there is a nice climb up to Ashover Faebric (locally known as Asher Rock (Asher=Ashover)) where on a nice day you can see 5 counties
If you like history not far away is the remains of the Ashover Light Railway (one last loco is on the Festiniog) that's Milltown quarry
IF you have transport then Ogston Reservoir isn't far away for the Ornithologists

I will be on site on the Thursday before the Show starts Friday
 
forgot to mention last month that we have received our tickets thank you
 
Due to unforseen circumstances we will not be ble to attend this rally ,if any other member wants to go pm us their address as we now have unwanted ticket for this event
 
OK been told by the organisers we have 13 units pitched

Weather Forecast is fair for this time of year

Bands look fair

Those beer drinkers amongst you are in for a treat there is Brampton Brewery on site a local brewery from Chesterfield with a history of excellent beers
In the village there is the Poets Corner which has an award winning brewery too and good food


Maxine is almost packed and I intend leaving home around 1pm Thursday (15-25 minute run ) will have a Union Flag and Derbyshire flag flying on separate poles ( Couldn't get a Funster flag for love nor money) the marshall will direct you to our area just ask for Madcaravanner
 
I to have tickets, as I'm unable to attend. Your's free, if you like you, could make a contribution to the defibrillator fund.
