What do Funsters think of being issued with Vaccine Passports for travelling abroad or for entering public venues in UK..Not a believer in compulsory vaccine myself but all in favour of a passport if it gives me freedom,,BUSBY,,,

Proving my vaccinated status is no problem whatsoever for me. Having the vaccination is optional so I really can't see what all the fuss is about.
Businesses can already allow or refuse entry or service at their discretion to any potential customer. Some could take the opportunity to attract customers by restricting entry to people who can show that they've been vaccinated.

Everyone I know that has had the vaccine has been issued a small blue card saying they have been vaccinated. why can’t we just use that?

I was thinking that - if I was booking a workman in the future I would ask had he/she been vaccinated (obviously when everyone has had the option)

guy on the radio was asked well if you were having a supper with 8 friend would you check that they had all been vaccinate, and he said yes! Which lead to an interesting thought, one of my work colleagues refuses to take the jag (daft in my view reason) should I refuse to mix and socialise with her? Could I?

The ones refusing the vaccination are only in reality a danger to themselves. If the rest of us are vaccinated we won’t catch Covid from unvaccinated people. I think that companies refusing entry etc to the non vaccinated are covering themselves from the non vaccinated claiming they caught coronavirus on their premises.
I don’t really know how that could happen other than another non vaccinated guest already having Covid and transmitting it.

Some years ago I had to have proof of vaccinations to enter South Africa. Nothing new about proving vaccinations. The refuserniks will help generate new variants, probably at no cost to themselves, filling the hospitals denying others their treatment.

What about the virus mutating tho? Say I got on a return plane with someone who had not had the vaccination and had picked up a mutated version aboard or had “brewed“ the virus so it became vaccination resistant, I could catch that?

On the news last night they said Government is looking at Vaccine passports or making the information available on NHS apps.

Don't know about you guys & girls but my vaccination already shows up both on Paintent Acess online & on the My GP app on my phone.

Yes you can. The vaccine greatly reduces, or even eliminates, the potential severity of the virus but you can still catch, carry and transmit it.

Not according to the scientists they are saying the chances of having Covid are 98.5% against and the chances of transmission vastly reduced.
You do seem to be one of the ones that only see the negative in this.

My mates sister was an avid antivaxer and believed it was all a gov conspirisy..... Until she got a positive test.
She now has a vaccine date.
Why is she having it? You say she’ll still get it and transmit it. So no point really

Too easy to forge? Did you get the card after the first or second dose? Martin didn't get one.

I'm not sure whether it's intended that young people will be vaccinated at all so they can be carriers with or without symptoms.
In any case they already have to show their age with an i.d. card to enter clubs, buy booze etc. so they could just use that i.d. to show why they're too young to have been vaccinated.

possibly. No one knows. It might be like other corona viruses and we may need a booster against new variants on a regular basis but the fewer people who catch it the less chance of mutation.

EMIS access so no need, nothing secret only your medical files and any procedures you have had done etc, not going to rob your savings or be used for anything else than your medical history so why not? Pull up at customs produce passport and give NHS number, quick check their end as to who is vaccinated and off you go, quite easy to restrict access to third party for your records but why would anyone want to clone them, * How's the syphilis/gonorrhoea/std's holding up?* Or when did you have your appendix out? What do the conspiracy theorists make of that other than * THEY can tell if YOU have not had it or been vaccinated against it!*

What I find perverse with the argument about civil liberties being infringed is that people seem fine with Google, Facebook and Tesco collecting shed loads of data but as soon as a very valid reason for something like a vaccine passport is considered the end of civil liberties is nigh!

I also think that when anyone who doesn't want a vaccine for any non medical reason realises they won't be able to travel abroad they will realise the error of their ways. Perverse really!

I posted that on another thread a while back because I saw it on my wifes NHS app (not the Covid one) and some people reported that theirs were not displayed. I thought we must be special because it also popped up on my acute medicines record a few hours after my jab, so pleased you and now others are seeing it too. As you say that should work fine in my opinion. My wife is due her second jab in early April so it will be interesting to see how the record evolves.
