I thought tunnel fares would have gone through the roof with this p&o job but I am thinking they have gone down, usually use Tesco vouchers so don't really take any notice but have just priced a couple of returns, one in July £266 and one in September £249.
As I said not really up in prices but they seem reasonable to me.
Anyone know different?

If you can book far in advance still reasonable but nowhere near as good as the old Frequent Traveller prices, however try to book something with 3/4 weeks and the prices are eye watering at the moment.

i booked my out in april and back end june in august last year £240 so yes no real increase

On wonders if the tunnel is preparing to price the passenger ships out of the market and just leave them the freight.

Depending on what happens to P&O, will they get sued by the Government, will they be able to restart operations.

As all parties are well aware if P&O get away with it, then DFDS, Stena, etc. will be forced to follow suit and do the same thing and lay off all their crews and reemploy 2nd world crews at £1.81 per hour (and they do a 14 day shift!)

The tunnel may well be thinking if there is a summer of stoppages, strikes and unreliability over cars to the mainland by ship, then now is the time to start grabbing a share, which the ships will never get back.

Irish Ferries and FFDS ALready use cheap Labour. This has been the problem. P and O could not compete

Booked yesterday for May. Motorbikes not motorhome but prices were exactly the same as last time I checked at the beginning of the year. £109 return.

Looks about right chaser I booked to go out 4 May back mid July and similar prices, except I pay for the dog which has gone up

Yeah might have gone then but we have our biggest tractor show that week , at the Blyth pub Kingston.

Yes not a lot different from last year, booked mine for this May last week and the same price as our trip away last October

It doesn't excuse what P&O management did, but cheap, 3rd world labour crews are pretty standard in the merchant shipping world. I suspect it won't be long before the P&O boats are back in service - they're unlikely to tie up 3 enormous and costly ferries for too long ...

I would not use anything but the tunnel to get across. Tried the ferry about 5 years back, bloody awful, never again. The prices are pretty good if you book in advance, even better with Tesco Clubcard. We get on, have a snooze for 20/30 mins then fresh to go!
