I believe they changed the charges a few years ago and now charge daily, so if you arrive 8pm and leave 9 am the next day , you pay for 2 days.

True the charge is for 24 hrs midnight to midnight. if you take the ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe you are able to park on the port
