Can any one explain why american electric trailer brakes are not excepted as legal in the UK but electric tow car brakes are ?

I believe it is only the electric parking brake that offends the authorities
they are not permitted on any vehicle here either as far as im aware
for the purpose of this answer I am ignoring UK cable over electric motor variants

I have a car and A frame supplied by Towbars2Towcars. Yes it is an A frame, and uses all 4 wheels in the ground. They are brilliant and the service from this company is also brilliant. One suggestion though: if you buy it, contact towbsrs2towcars and get them to check your Moho towbar electrics to ensure it is compatible with the car. They will also fit a warning light in your cab to indicate any issues with the Aygo. They will have a record of the Aygo they fitted it to. The Aygo is Aldo a brilliant little run about, ideal as a tow car. This is a really good buy for someone.

We have the same car and Towbars2Towcars set up. Absolutely agree, we changed our MH last year and had the electrics checked - new Towbar electric plug and pin required for Hymer with the additional warning light put on the dash. Original fit and check up all done by Watling Engineering in St Albans.

I am interested in this item for UK towing though would not risk using it overseas.

Please advise when the car was converted by Tow Bars 2 Tow Cars? Was the towing system new when it was fitted to the car? Is it still the current system as supplied by the manufacturers?

Has the car ever been involved in any accident or been damaged and repaired?

Forgive the personal question but are you smokers?

I see that you are from Bedfordshire - is that where the vehicle is presently located?

No never in accident/repaired/damaged.
Non smokers.
Yes new on the car used once to to it home.
Yes I believe it's is current but can always be checked with tow cars.
Yes currently in Bedfordshire.

@Stevang what connects the car to the tow hitch? Could you please provide a picture of the connection kit, an alternative to an A frame would be of interest.

It wont make any difference the problem isn't and never has been A frames .
It's towing a vehicle with a vehicle that's prohibited
