Hi all, thinking of putting together a tool kit for MH.
Thinking of screw drivers, pliers, etc etc., but what about things like tape, sealants etc. Your advice would be very helpful.

I bought a Halfords tool case a few years ago that is in residence constantly, they don’t sell the same one now, but it contains everything I thought I might need inside: tape measure, claw hammer, spanners, Allen keys, socket set, files, screwdrivers and sets of bits, electrical tape, spade connectors, cable ties etc. All contained in an aluminium brief case. The only other spares I carry now are a hab water pump (once bitten), fan belt, fuses and oil. Oh, and gaffer tape - 2 rolls.

Above plus insulating tape, gaffer tape, self amalgamated tape, star bits for driver, water pump pliers, tourch and a set of spanners ?

I've got one of these ¼ socket sets, very handy...

Also a ratchet screwdriver with tips and some long nosed pliers.
Oh, and me soldering iron. Used that twice on the last holiday ?

Thanks Euphony, will look for a suitable box. I've seen a tool bag with basic tools in at Aldi, they also sell a number of other separate tools. What sealant / adhesive do you use for emergencies?

PTFE tape, WD40,spare lamps, a few nuts and bolts of various sizes, some jubilee clips a cheap multi meter, and some self tapping screws. These are things I usually have with me. Often required by some one else.

Thanks Bahco, coincidentally just picked up a soldering iron (and solder) from Aldi (£7.99) this morning ?

Me? Far to much stuff but you never know :whistle2:
All of the items in the above posts except the jack. I’ve got S&P levellers ?

I think I carry far to many "just in case tools and associated gubbins" but you never what you might need to get you out of a spot, but l am having trouble finding space for the engine hoist. :giggle:

Tool kit + 4 ton bottle jack, one axle stand & torque wrench ( for wheel/tyre change).
Yes had forgotten about that potential problem. Do you have breakdown cover, would they come out for a tyre change?

Yes we have breakdown cover, but if I can change a wheel in about 15 minutes then that may be a better option than waiting an hour or 2 for breakdown van to turn up. Depends where we are and what we are up to really I suppose, but I'm giving myself the option. I also needed the bottle jack when I drove over the top of the levelling ramps and wedged them under the van .
