Plenty of time to save up to pay the extra £1 next year 😉

No Yvette, you may have miscalculated, it will be an extra £7 in total, which is why I'm trying to give everyone as much notice as I can and the chance to reduce how much they spend on birthday/Christmas/anniversary presents etc so they can afford it.

For some of us it will be the difference between having one bag of chips each or sharing a large portion of chips ...😱

PS - other clubs or organisations will be paying a higher price than us, so we've done ok really which is why I wanted to confirm the booking with them ASAP!

That'll teach me not to read the post properly before replying 🫣 . I can see now, you said £1 per night but still gives plenty of time to save the extra £7 (y) Well done for getting it at a bargain price ⭐

As possibly one of the tightest tight people on a tightrope, I broke all our rules and actually paid to stay overnight, in this country.
We had the best week in Thorpe. Absolutely outstanding.
The only moan is that the showers were too hot for my liking.

This place comes very highly recommended and perfect relaxing rally.

An extra quid a day would usually find me noticing where nearest defib is, but not at Grange Farm, Thorpe le Soken.

We're (always) looking for ways to make the rally better, without making it too 'activity' focused, so if anyone who attended this year can think of any ways to iron out any wrinkles then please let me know, either on this thread (please make sure you put my name on it so I see it) or by direct message.

I wasn't sure about it being a two field rally, but most of those in the 'posh bit' said they enjoyed it there, honest feedback appreciated please, if we go back to just the rally field though numbers will be restricted to a max of 32. If we do two fields though it can go.up to around 40, this time I (or rather my groupies) will set up the gazebo in the rally field but next to the entrance in the rally field so that it's a bit more in the middle for every one, rather in the corner it was this year.

Pizza night - yes or no?
Curry night - yes or no?
Sat night entertainment - yes or no?

No gin tasting next year ....sorry!

Follow on - not sure where, but it would be a different location than the previous two years to keep it interesting - yes or no?

Dave and Yvette

if numbers increase is the Indian restaurant building an extension….😉
We would have to limit it to those who responded first, though I think we're not far from that already. What we are considering to do though is to stagger table times, starting at 6pm for those who need to eat early and then probably 6.45 and then 7.30 (1800, 1845 and 1930)

Yes to all above Dave, entertainment depending on content enjoyed last this years

It could be quite amusing watching Just smiffy marshaling via his superseded electric wheelchair and a "Follow Me" placard stuck on his rear as he charges off round the campsite with motorhome vainly following in pursuit :whatthe:

50/50 if we should be in one or two fields. I know a couple were disappointed to be in the other field but others liked it (perhaps for shade of trees as it was warm). But if using two fields we do need to put a few, not just one or two, in each so as not to isolate (unless that's really what they want).

As for curry, pizza, even Sat night at the club that works, especially if it's a reasonable group playing. Not sure the murder mystery or panto things would have been so desirable.

No we will not be attending, the location is dire, the showers are freezing, the company leaves a lot to be desired and the place is full of Cockeneys! (That should put enough people off) apart from that, weather permitting I see another Frinton Baptisite quiz night in the offing! :ROFLMAO:

All ok for us but no curries..
I personally found there were too many threads with the different headers making it difficult to follow sometimes.
Great location great layout.

Dave, we loved the rally & the previous one that we'd been to with you.

It's such a pretty village & something about the site & friendly locals makes it ideal for just having the most chilled out break we can remember. However:blush: we generally try not to do the same rallies every year, please don't bar us from future ones!

Great idea regarding the gazebo & maybe an open invite for folks to gather in the evenings if they want to?
