What is it?
Catalytic flameless heater.
There a catalytic reaction between the gas and the heating element which produces heat.... It still glows red and needs a pilot light to maintain the reaction.
In appearance the 'flame' looks very much like a super-ser type cabinet heater
It still needs a lot of ventilation but to reduce condensation more than to evacuate CO
