Not wanting to get involved at the moment with SvTech could some one let me know roughly what they charge for upgrading the weights on my MH. Thanks

The other place will do it for much less. Can't remember the name though.

Chaser, I think so!

Still be interested how much they charge ?

I think it's very dependant on what, if anything needs to be done. It can just be a paper exercise or it can involve tyre / suspension changes. It doesn't hurt to give them the spec. and ask them.

I think Minxy Girl has had dealings with them.
Yup, the dealer we got our Carthago from had only had it registered at 3700kg (max weight via Carthago) but we'd specifically told them we wanted 3850kg and had it put on the purchase paperwork, so I contacted SVTech and got the gen on what the cost was which came in at £312 so fortunately the dealer paid for it.

If you contact the other company, Van Weight Engineering I think they're called, I believe the are about half the cost.

Thanks everybody for the info, very useful.

If it's an Alko chassis you're looking at £2,000+ if not then stop whinging!!!

Air assist £250 off eBay and if you know a spanner from a screwdriver max 4hrs to do a simple fitting. Dee Thorne at van weight engineering probably no more than £175 to upweight.

Cost me £80 via emails and phone calls using SvTech.

I can whole heartedly recommend Van Weight Engineering. Our replating was unusual and they went way beyond what I considered good service. And they were successful- SV Tech said “There are no options for your vehicle”.

£160 if it’s just a paper exercise (I.e. no mechanical mods needed)

I will have to uprate when my van comes and will be adding air assist.
I have uprated (paper exercise previously) with John Russell £150 5 years ago.

If I put the air assist in how does the uprate go ? I tell them I have air assist and they uprate to 4350 instead of 3650 ? I would have thought I will have to take it in somewhere for somebody to check my the father in laws mechanical skills or for them to put the air assist in ?
