had letter from Comfort insurance to say that their underwriters will not insure any Ford Transit based campers without them having a Thatcham approved Tracker.Mine has a Thatcham alarm but don't want to shell out for a Tracker. They have found me an alternative provider so happy. But where do all the stolen campers go?I have had one stolen never to be seen again and bought one from a Car Dealer that had been ringed. He knew were it had come from(A TRAVELLERS SITE).Police were a waste of time and even told me when I told them where I had traced it to(oh we don't go there).Took the Dealer to court and got awarded my money back but never got it!

I think the last stolen one on here was a fiat so security an issue for more than Ford that being said we have fitted new door locks and obd lock. The company that supply them also do them for fiat and mercedes which suggests theres a market!!

I received the same letter but it was by mistake as I have a Fiat.

I was driving from Kirkcaldy to Edinburgh today along the motorway and there was a similar Ford motorhome in the lay-by being loaded onto the back of a breakdown truck. Don’t know if it was the same one or just some unlucky person even though I couldn’t see anyone other than the pickup guy

@Robert Clark is right! If you have a vehicle that has been posted as a target by thieves, then it is up to YOU to provide the security to stop the scroats nicking it.
To my mind, if you have paid a hefty sum, buying the bloody thing, then surely you would be derelict in your duty to protect it if you didn't have some means to stop it being nicked? If you relied on the security provided by the Manufacturer?

We paid £9700 for our 1992 Auto sleeper Clubman GL We take precautions. Why can't you with your £50k plus?
Just a Steering wheel lock @ what? £20-£30-£40? A £3 ratchet strap from Toolstation, or, Screwfix tween the 2 cab door handles?

In this day and age of up to date tech, keyless and other Boll****
Tiz going back to the simple things, that will slow down if not stop the scroats!
