Hi a question for those that go to Spain for the winter we are at callera at the moment it's 14 deg and a wind warning. The forecast for malaga is not much better is this normal thanks

About right for this time of year... although it has come a bit earlier..

Could be wall to wall sunshine next week.. (y)

When we lived out there it was not uncommon to have Xmas dinner by the pool... (To cold to swim)... but nice to sit out in till the evening...

Not as good this year as last.Never put a sleeve on last year in November but have done now.Still better than uk but had it better
Weather is never reliable,,bit like politicians.BUSBY.

It can be a bit unpredictable but we find it much warmer than UK from Dec to End of April. Last winter was really good the one before colder but still better than UK.?

It must be otherwise I'd get winter fuel allowance.:D

IF it carries on as it has recent. A lot of people are going to need the WFA and a whole lot more too before Spring!. SWMBO, has been complaining about the cold for days, Her Mobility is restricted more so than normal following major reconstitution surgery, after the fall last May. Added to which she had the big toe nail removed from the other foot last week!.., So NO chance of Spain or anywhere else warm for us!.

The winter weather in southern Spain is generally good, but can be variable... bit like an English spring or summer really. ;)

We were travelling around the Garrucha / Mojacar area exactly 14 days ago and the van thermometer was reading 30 degrees. From there it dropped to the mid-20s last week, before we flew home on Friday. So much warmer than we'd expected.

Off to the Canaries later this month, then back to the van in mainland Spain in December; where no doubt it will be cooler, but hopefully significantly better than at home. (y)

Yesterday, on our terrace, we had to pull the blinds down to shade the table at lunchtime and we needed cold drinks.

Today, I've worn three layers whilst out biking, and my thumbs went numb. We made hot soup when we got back.

Tomorrow ... who knows ... weather is weather ?

Thanks for the replies seems we have just been unlucky at the moment but will stick it out as the weather back home is pants and this is better

The Spanish winter is not for us. I much prefer being tucked up with my central heating and a stew and dumplings in the oven. I’m looking forward to Christmas, decorating my tree, baking and seeing my family. Spain is good in the Spring and late summer/early autumn.

It was so cold on the seafront at Vilajoyosa today that I had to put a jumper on whilst eating my lunch and I’m wearing crop trousers instead of shorts. Mind you I am a soft southerner.

WFA. The rules remind me of my mother telling me off all my life for being born 15 minutes after midnight on the 6th April 1954. They missed out on the “pram allowance” for that year. If she was still alive I would now be blaming her for not taking up the midwife’s offer of recording my birth at just before midnight on 5th April. I missed out this year by just one day. Is there such a thing as being too honest?

23c here today :)

Paddle boarded and snorkelled at Santa Pola today. I Did however put my wetsuit on for the first time this trip.
Wind has been fairly constant NW 25kmh for most of the day.

I consider where i live that the spanish winter is similar to a UK spring/summer

Yeah, it's fairly wet and chilly in the UK during the spring and summer. Okay, there's the odd burst of heat but it's totally unreliable. We once had a fortnight in the UK in August and it rained and was cold. We had to wear warm coats every day. That's why I like Spain in the spring and early autumn.

We have had very cold North winds in Pinoso for the past few weeks and more forecast. 13/14degrees in the day but 2 degrees at night! We are told it is the coldest November they have had here for years. Glad I have jumpers and warm trousers-but still brighter and better views than UK ;)

Same here in Portugal,we are south of Lisbon and it was 6c yesterday and down to 3 overnight, quite unusual to be that low here, stay cosy folks.

Winter in Spain is unpredictable.

Costa Blanca can often get better weather than del sol or even Seville.

Christmas 2017, we heated the pool and the little ones swam.

This year does not look so good. That and the pool heater needs upgrading.

But I've seen 28c in November 2016!
